Hello from the Quad Cities

We purchased our MINI from Bill Jacobs in Naperville in January and we're thrilled with it. Rachel was very helpful and accomodating eventhough we were from out of town(she stayed late on a Saturday night). If you find yourself in the Quad Cities, expect a wave from a Dark Grey 2007 MCS.

Welcome! I live in Rock Island and work in Davenport. For a while there I thought I was the only one posting from the QC.

I think I spotted you on 53rd and Tremont today. Dark silver roof matches body color with no plates? Post some pics, show it off ! We all like to admire each others ride.

Ooooh fun. Congrats on the order!

Any type of wave or honk is acceptable as far as I am concerned

Hi there!
We should set up a MINI meet/greet perhaps over thanksgiving weekend and see if we can get QC Mini's to attend. What do you say?

My only issue with thanks giving is Thursday night I am cooking for 35 and having 10 stay over not sure when they are leaving and how long it will take me to recover. But given the correct time and all I am up for anything

We are taking the mini down to Florida for Thanksgiving and won't be back to the Quad Cities 'till December 4th. I hate to miss out on a gathering so close to home.

tire rotation

anybody ? i need help. i have 6k on my mcs is it time for a tire rotate?
how come the manual does not mention tire rotation? should my dealr do it? i took it there the other day and they wanted 50 bucks to do it. i passed on the service. they did say "anyone can rotate the tires but balancing and something else should should be done by the dealer."

what is the true story on this? please help.

if you search around on here you will find many conflicting ideas around tire rotation.

If you have directional tires you can move front to back

I don't personally rotate my tires I do have winter tires however so I change every season.

Its really up to you

anyone can rotate if you so choose 17mm socket and jackstands you can do it as well

I swap front-to-back and back-to-front in the spring and fall when I change between summer and winter tires. I just sit down in my crappy garage and use the jack that came with my MINI, greasing the jack screw frequently, since I doubt it was intended to be used very much. The dealer is 5 hours away from my Southeast Iowa home, so it's out of the question for tire rotation.
