Good point. Still, if they could even be angled up 25 degrees and slightly to the left that would be better. I think that's an OK place for the less important gauges. I'd like to put coolant temp and oil temp there and put boost and oil pressure on either side of the tach.

Since you don't mind having gauges low, try in the front of the left side of the Eurotrash shelf.

I'm thinking of mounting it to the steering column in front of the cluster. I'll make a paper cutout to see if it obscures anything useful.

Hi Andy,

Hate to keep buggn you...but could you elaborate please? I'm going to replicate your install and would appreciate more detail regarding the sender mods like drilling holes into the oil filter housing...cutting into radiator hose

Thanks much,
Sid

Check with:

http://www.promini.com/

They sell a modified oil filter housing. You screw your oil pressure sender into that housing. Then, replace the stock housing with the modified one.

As for the coolant temperature sender, check that Pegasus link. I cut the front radiator hose and installed the Tee.

The pieces I used were one-offs from a friend. But, you can get the same pieces from the sources I listed. Promini may actually have both parts, ask Al.

I haven't bought it yet, still shopping for a good deal. Looks like $225 is the going price:

It looks like that unit used to be made by Davtron and was considerably cheaper (~$160), but Davtron appears to no longer be in business. I asked about IAT gauges at my local muscle car shop (y'know, the kind of place that has 500 sizes of carb gaskets on the wall?) and all I got was funny looks. :???:

I just took mine to a machine shop. The tapped the end of the housing, installed the aeroquip fitting I gave them and I had it back in a day. I think it cost about $20.

The PROMINI unit I installed a couple or so months ago gets its reading from the stock sender area (oil pressure warning light). The OEM then mounts on top of the PROMINI one...

2 of these could do the trick as well for $25 each:
