Let this be an opportunity of showing the those japanese import communities what minis really can do... sick and tired of nay-sayers.

How fun! I almost did the same thing in the RSX community, but decided that I wouldn't be doing NAM any justice with my lack of driving skills. Here's hoping one of the Z owners steps up!

I'll second that!!!

The 350z is one of the cars I was considering before I decided on the MINI. Others were WRX STi, EVO, G35, 3 Series BMW, Z4 BMW, S2000 & Miata. Those are no where near the same but they're all fun in their own way and it's all good!

Umm, I'd love to show you a Z getting spanked by an MCS at the strip.. Z's aren't race cars, even with TT kits they aren't too fast...

People underestimate MCS's soooo much, even current owners... Go out and learn something...

both good platforms. I consdiered buying either and test drove them both rigoursly... Either car can be fast if driven by a good driver and especially fast if modded. At a certain point it has so little to do with what the car came like oem... I mean how many of us that read this thread have a stock engine?

either way fun thread. What I read on that Z board re-affirms why I didn't buy one of those rice mobiles. They may cost more in oem trim... but it's the same crowd that owns them as any other ricer and same attitudes. I'll stick with my twisty corners and more adult atmosphere thank you very much. Oh yeah... btw did i mention i see tons of Z's every where I go, although it's pretty easy to mistake them from altima's at a distance lol... Dime a dozen.

fun stuff.

I don't think it will be a spank. Zs are heavy.

Well considering the MINI that is challenging them has a power to weight ratio that only a 600 hp Z can compete with. Although rwd will help a lot.

Hmm how much does your car weigh in at? I put you at 2600 lbs and that would mean like 450hp to get similar power to weight ratios... Am I close or not so much?

It's not even worth your time... there are several posts in that thread and even that forum that prove those dbags don't really know squat about cars in general much less mini's.

If they don't think a mini can and will beat a z in then they are stupid. And if they don't have respect for the styling of the car then they are driving the right car... Let them stay over on their side of the fence with their ***** shaped cars that drive like maxima's.

We can stay on ours and continue to have fun and do it with more class and still manage to win races and turn heads and still win 9/10 in the twisties with a stock car and 4-5/10 in the drags with a modified car.

Honestly I don't feel threatened. I am driving a car that is and was much more of a mark in automotive history then the Z is and was.

I posted this in the other thread about the cars.com face-off - but it seems worth repeating here. There is a lot of respect being shown to the MINI on their forums, a pretty decent group of folks, overall. Of course, like anywhere, there are a handful of knuckle draggers. Let's be careful to not lower ourselves to that level by making stupid comments... The cars are clearly each good in their own ways and each appeals to certain folks more than others.

....I just wish we could win the face-off!!! So if you haven't already, go VOTE for the MINI!

I cant wait, and my buddy that built it has a bill on me for the race........LOL! no respect for the mini, guess we just need to kill um one by one to gain it............

You know, it's funny. You can take 2nd rate engineering and put a hot, sexy, muscular skin on it, and people will think it's fast. OR, you can take 1st rate engineering and put a fun, unassuming skin on it and people will think it's slow. Then there's driver quality...

A friend of mine in the MINI club here said she would rather buy the lowest model of a luxury/sport manufacturer (the MINI) than the highest model of a cheap manufacturer (you know who they are...).
