Drivetrain 250 WHP, is it possible??

I'm busy today and away from the shop so I cannot get too caught up in this but...
If you are referencing the article written by Tex Guthrie in the March-April MC2 then you are mistaken a more than a few levels. The 228 WHP is on a DynoJet -- a dyno that uses an indirect measurement calculation. In the article Tex says he lightened the corners by 13 pounds each. That now needs to be refigured into the HP equation. An understanding of how a dyno works needs to be taken into account.
Furthermore, he references the ecu as not stock but rather a custom tune by Mynes a few times. Absent was mention of a piggyback such as SAFC as that is anything but custom.
I have never said that if I cannot do something it cannot be done. If you are getting that from my writing then you are reading something that I did not write. My issue is with false performance claims that I read on NAM.

to be honest I don't know but it does not make intuitive sense to me...... I will yield to those with experience.
you are saying that at the end of the 1/4 regardless of time the mph will be the same...... due to "sling shot" effect?.... doesn't the "rise time" and "crest factor" which is time based matter?.... and different systems/cars with different transfer functions would they not "wind up" different?..... it just seems to me that "not necessarily" works better for me so I would love an explanation so that I can learn

Our Mini can without nitrous will launch at 6000 and will not turn a tyre if the track is good if its off it will spin and the mph will go up not by much though as we dont make a lot of horsepower.
a perfect 102,5mph would be;
60ft 1.80 1.88
330ft 5.19 5.45
660ft 8.16 8.45
mph 83.33 82.71
1000ft 10.73 10.97
1/4 12.93 13.24
mph 102.5 102.49
As you can see I'm down .26 of a sec at the 330ft but most of the other increments are the same between the 330-660 660-1000 1000-1320

lets try a little math on the e/t calculator... put that whp numbe in and see what trapspeed you get...
Your right i did bring that car down to Mynes to have custom software installed. its still a stock computer. i aplogize for any confusion. No the car is not running any piggy backs. all it has is a flash... i wish it had an afc... that would be so much nicer... i was just afraid to put an afc in the car with a 77 year old man who like to touch things... no problems with that... he is just interested and excited about his car.

to me... that would be a flase performance claim. sure you didn't say that it made elventy billion hp... but it is still misleading the general public...
you can always sit back and throw stones at those who publish results... because you only post your results every great once in a while... (i can only think of one off of the top of my head) and even then it wasn't on your magical dyno... but guess what... nobody questioned it.

Point being that ALL this HP stuff is only for the track??? right?? and seeing how MOST of the MINI's dont do track time... then this is all about just an extreme few, ? yes?? but when all is said and done... with out a performance run, or an exibition, then all this HP stuff is for..... braging rights?? The differnce is we would have to go a couple thousand miles to get to the dragon... F that.
Go to your drag strip... run your car. post the number. it will cost you 20 bucks... and there is offical timing and safety cars incase your 14 second car(s) become uncontrollable on the big end and you crash. (some of you can pull off some 13 second runs)

if the car revs to 8krpm... he still has the tune. Its blistering hot... he probably is noticing some power loss... because one of the last times he drove that car was in april... when it was 80. it was 115 yesterday. that will sap power...
14 cops in 11 miles is worthless. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. You will get a ticket as I have recieved a warning for simply driving with 1 hand on the steering wheel at 25mph on the gap. I have a manual car btw.
You will get pulled over for simply traveling this highway. Not speeding but simply driving down it with a car that does not appear stock. so ahhh... thanks for the help.
Tunes don't TYPICALLY decide it's time to punch out... once they have taken.. it's getting them to take sometimes thats fun though
