Drivetrain Stuff Keeps Dying
Stuff Keeps Dying
So in the last month it seems my electrical has gone to poo. One day my horn started acting up, sometimes it would honk, others day it wouldnt.....started getting less loud and finally just gave up. Then my door locks stopped working...first my driver side door wont open with the clicker and then a couple days later the passenger side door also stopped opening with the clicker...then the switch inside that unlocks the door stopped working all together. Lastly my trunk stopped opening so I have to stick my hand under the seat whenever I want to open it. All of it I believe electrical, i've checked all the fuses theyre all good and I took the battery to AutoZone and they said it was fine. What else could it be...did all this just break and now need to be replaced?

are you still in warranty, if so get that thing in to the shop fast. If not, my heart goes out to you, electrical systems are beyond hard to diagnose, but it sounds like your connectors somewhere in the ahrness are corroded. But I could only guess where and how many of them there are.

First step should always be to clean your battery terminals and cable, then check and clean all the chassis grounds you can find. You might have your alternator testedtoo, or at least put a meter on the battery with car off and car on with headlights etc on and see what voltage levels you get. PB
Also check to see if there is any wet carpet on the passenger side foot well. There have been reports of leaking on that side and the general body module, that sits behind the kick panel would suffer if there was water getting in there. The general body module controls all of the items you mentioned,.
The weird part it....the clicked will still lock the doors but it wont unlock them....like you hear the noise as if they were being unlocked but they dont actually unlock. I looked for any kind of water damage looking stuff and say nothing, looked nice and dry.
