Drivetrain Brilliant new engine? Munich struggling to get power and reliability...
what's most ironic about this thread is that some NAM'ers will chastise people asking how to make their cars faster ("it's a MINI, it's not about speed!" is the answer), while others say the new powerplant lacks power. damned if you do, damned if you don't!
PGT: I agree with you to a point. The goals of each owner are going to vary dramatically; I'm a hot rodder at heart, however I also enjoy a well balance chassis with "just enough" power. Sometimes it's tough for me balance out those two contradictions. With my R53, with much more power I added R-compounds, better brakes, and upgraded suspension. Sure it's different than stock, that's what I wanted! Other people prefer the comfort of totally stock, or the warranty maintenance of JCW. Kind of what I've been saying in the R53 vs. R56 thread; beauty is in the eye of the beholder, power included.

Ryan
