They are great tires for all season. If youre looking for the best tire, check out the Falcon RT-615. They are a summer only tire, but i have never been more satisfied with any other tire.

You will find lots of threads about "ditching the run-flats". The main reason for doing this, you will find, is that the ride can be much more comfortable with normal tires.

As a matter of fact, the MINI suspension was developed to have regular tires, and it was only at the last moment that MINI decided to ship the cars with run-flats, (I think due to BMW's strong stance on this). That is what Motoringfile states, anyway.

So, if they actually had developed the car's suspension with run-flats in mind from the beginning, perhaps there would be less of us saying, "ditch the run-flats".

I believe the new '07 models coming out, (the R56), the suspension has been developed for use with run-flats, so hopefully new buyers will not have such a harsh ride.

So, long story short, the best way to have a more compliant ride, is to go with normal tires, most agree.

Search for "Ditch run-flats" and you'll see lots of threads...

Sounds like a plan.
The Milltek exhaust will be fine, any cold air intake, 15% pulley (maybe GIAC ECU reflash or equivalent) and (add an adjustable rear swaybar).

BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW2 in 205/45-17 should be fine ($118 each)
300 treadwear AA traction
Tests-

Handles well in wet or dry, a little noisy.

Maybe consider some light weight wheels.
