Is this the new "Q" chip? If so:
There is no light, only on the early model
When the "O" is pushed in the setting is 91
When the "I" is pushed in the setting is 93
If the above settings are the tune you purchased. Some get 93 - 100. Reguardless the switch works the same way "I" is the more agressive setting.

Red light should come on for the race map.

Yea, the unichip came with two switches. The other was for the future IC mister that we were promissed by Webb, which never ever happened, even though it was a strong selling point.
Wish I could remember which was which. Sorry

There was a second small white plug which was for future mister that you never plugged in. Only one black toggle switch which you either mounted in the car or left under the hood. Check the unchip you have laying around. Sold mine last week had only one black toggle.

..as I remember Larry you were one of the earliest unichip owners from Webb. I think that the two switch thing came right after your install.
I know that many here know the answer to this question and will most likely post here in the next two days.

You may be right about a second switch on later models. I was one of the very first guinea pigs back then.

Where did you get the Unichip from if you don't mind answering. If you got it from a vendor can they help you or is this the one off ebay last week.

Just my experience (I have the 2-switch Unichip), but I can't tell the difference between the maps with my popo dyno. Now, it is commonly known that mine is not calibrated as well as other's, but I can tell you that I could detect a big difference between no-Unichip and Unichip installed. Of course, it's rare for my car to have pure 101 octane in it...(which is what my Map B is set for--but this year at the track I intend to see what it can do!)

cheers,

If you have a two switch Unichip(old), It's the switch with yellow wires going to it. I just taped the switch to the red LED because I kept forgetting witch switch was which. If you flip the switch to (1), the red LED should light up. I've been doing a lot of work finding wiring pinouts with the Unichip harness yesterday so I can hook up a Innovative DL-32 dataloger....

same experience; there's a clear increase in low-end torque with the Unichip installed on my car, it's much easier to pull away. I also feel no difference between the 2 maps but I can only use crappy 91 octane locally...

I never felt any difference between maps, even when I was tracking with 100. Now, you can get your car tuned by a certified unichip tuner and he can might be able to do a better job, but the fact is that tuning for 100 octain does little for the final power numbers. It just helps the car run cooler.

It's a simple on off switch ( I-O, I = high test ). You will need to ask the original owner where they put it. The older version has a light in the switch when in high test mode.
