pulley, injectors & GIAC install question...

Hi motorers,

I have received my 19% pulley and JCW injectors and I will get them installed on Friday. I currently have a 15% pulley.

How much time should it take to get those installed?

I will also have my GIAC software updated...

Thanks!

4 hours is my guess... at least that's what the shop will likely charge you for. so when are we going to run it?

The shop should have received my stuff today and I will get it installed on Friday... hopefully!

Any problems with your 19% pulley in Miami's weather?

Thanks for the answer!!

Yeah, keeping traction in the rain.. haha..

But nope, no problems as of yet. Planning on moving on to IK24's from my IK22's. With the injectors and software your car should run like a dream.

great combination! i loved the lower torque and the injectors and software really made the car smoother....

you would have to add in the time it would take to lift the motor to fit a torque wrench onto the pulley... you could just get an allen key in thurr but that wouldnt be super smart... good luck and enjoy the added oomph! :D

Four hours seems a little long for that job.

It looks like it won't be installed tomorrow... DHL lost the package somewhere along the way... They are now trying to track it and I should get some news in the next few days... At least it was insured and they will pay me back.

I guess I'm not super smart. I did the 15% to 19% switch without lifting the motor, just with an allen key. A bit of a PITA but not too hard. I don't think it is too difficult to "feel" the right torque for these little bolts. BTW, Helix didn't use a torque wrench when they put on the 15% in the first place !

The injectors are also a pretty easy DIY. Dr O has good write-up. I had the 19% with stnd injectors, and switching to the JCW (without any tune) is a nice bump in power. Don't ask me why - I realize this is supposed to be a no-no but the car runs great so I haven't bothered to get the ECU upgraded yet. The nice thing is that when I do, I'll be able to tell whether ECU is making much difference. Do it all at once, and you don't know what is going on. Save the $$ and do it yourself !

I think I'll let them swap the pulley and install the injectors... The injectors should not take them more than 1 hour. They will also update my GIAC software at the same time. I think I'd rather spend money on the labor and let some professionals work on it lol

I think I could do the injectors swap myself, but on the other hand, the pulley and belt installs would be too involving for me

I just hope DHL will refund me quickly so that I can enjoy those mods soon!
