One-ball sound

Does anyone have a sound clip of the one ball exhaust? I am Thinking about doing it because of price, but cant find anything on how it sounds other than louder than stock.

I don't want anything tinny like a Honda, but i know getting a throaty sound could be asking to much for the price. I was thinking Miltek, but i wont be able to afford that for a long while with other planed, more important, mods.

Thanks

one ball has a good every day sound, add a exhaust cut out and you can make your mini bark.

cheers

Take a look in the main One-ball thread there is a BRG movie clip of a one ball reving, said to be about a 20-40% sound level increase

Here you go! I've had mine for ~ 6 months and love it. Sounds pretty much like this clip. Slightly more noticible, slight drone on highway, but we still love it and would do it again. Deeper more throaty sounds and much more gurgle! You're only talking ~ $75 and it's reversable if you really hate it. I was thinking about the Milltek before the mod, but don't see much reason to get it now.

Oops sorry S Curvz you beat me to it.

sound clips never do an exhaust system justice.

1-ball is a great mod - no one has ever said it was too much sound, if anything it is not enough for many.

I'm still looking to do this mod. But a MINI specialist I spoke to said the re0route pipes don't properly fit 05 or 06s. Is this the case that anyone knows of? Anyone have a one-ball on an 05 or 06?

I did a one ball three weeks ago on my 05. It sounds great, it took weight off the car and the fit and finish is perfect. I have had no problems with it what so ever. Deeper sound, more pops but my wife let me go for a Milteck which will go on next week. I did the one ball because I just installed a CAI and a pulley and wanted to make the car breath better and had no money for a new exhaust. From what I have read here the one ball really does not add much to power but It does make the car sound much better and maybe breath better. The Miltec will increase tork and horsepower and give it a deeper tone which for me suits the car and mods much better. Not too loud and a great combo with the CAI and pulley. Next week I plan to add a sway bar to the rear and I think I will be done with mods for some time . CAI, pulley, exhaust, what a great combo to really bring this car to life. A quick chop to the resonator, an S pipe, a couple of spot welds and your done.

I just took mine to a local muffler shop. The mod was around $80 and I had them hold onto the removed ball in case I wanted to go back stock. I can't find the post but when I was looking at doing the mod Dr Obnxs posted a link to flow data. If I remember correctly the One Ball better flow characteristics than just about all of the $$$ exhausts. I think he's running the One Ball with an OBX header and likes the setup. He is the man to go to for technical data. Our Mini is primarily a highway car. We couldn't go with anything too loud or droning. I love the sound on mine and wouldn't hesitate recommending giving it a try. I can't wait to see how it does after I install my new Dinan intake this weekend...weather permitting.
