hi all,
i know watercooled vw's in and out, but new to MINI's
the 5th gear in our MC is stupidly low for highway work, even though it gets over 32mpg on the highway, i would like to not rev at 4k doing 80mph:impatient

what options do i have?
did the canadian or european markets get different gearing?
i would really like to swap out 5th gear only, and from the looks of it, it's just like any other fwd tranny where i can pop the end cover off and have fifth right there.

but for the 6 speed, some found where the getrag was also used and started looking up gear ratios. There are a few around, but it's a real PITA to change them.

I don't know if anyone has done the same research for the 5 speed. Taller tires?
