Dinan Intake Filter?

Is it an AFE filter? Does it need to be replaced, or can I buy the AFE or K&N cleaning kit and use that for it? Has anyone fitted another filter in there - ITG, UNI, etc...?

Thanks!

mb, you know I have wondered the same thing. We have the Dinan and it looks just like my AFE for our Duramax. They do sell "recharge kits" for filters just like Dinan's. I would think you could re-use these filters over and ever again.

NAPA sells AFE re-charge kits if not in stock than they can have them the next day.

Thanks flowsource and Joaquin! I'll take it out and measure soon. I already have a uni filter cleaning kit (for my ITG), so I'd love to hear if that one works too.

I don't think the Dinan is cleanable, it is dry when it comes and Dinan says replace it after 30,000 miles... that leads me to believe you shouldn't oil it or clean it... I'm going to switch to k&n soon. Just my $.02

My Dinan blue filter was DEFINITELY not "dry" - it was oily - I know because it left a nice oily imprint on my shirt when I leaned it against me during install... and was in a sealed bag that was definitely oily inside.

It really does look like an AFE - I'm going to clean and re-oil mine (or at least attempt it) when it looks dirty...

That's interesting, because the filter that came with my Dinan was definitely not oily. Just a regular paper filter. I have a UNI foam filter in there now, so it's no big deal. I just thought it was interesting that yours is quite possibly re-usable.

Hey Marc, the part number is UP6275AST. The invoice from where I bought it is still at work, i'll check it tomorrow. A lot of places told me this part number was on backorder, so I found this one place that had them in stock. I think she even said it would ship from their NJ location.

Awesome, thanks for the info...I'm going to see if my ITG fits in there, and if it doesn't, I'll buy the UNI you have.
