I saw an article in Hot NewMini magazine about this intercooler & wonder if anyone in the U.S. has tested it...

But do you really want to spend $3000.00 + to get it. Sure could do alot of things with that kind of money.

If you got the $$$...Nice combo of top mount/front mount/air cooled/water cooled...I'd imagine that would be quite expensive to produce.

I think a cheaper version is in the process of being developed in the US based on DFIC and ALTA V2 styles of intercoolers. RUMORS

Yes. But a lot of rumors turn out to be true happenings in time.

What do you use to do this? Zaino, Griot's, NXT? Shouldn't this thread be in the Detailing forum?

Ahem...

Going on the twincharged rig shortly

The first customer's charge cooler from GRS. Should be hot, or make that cool

That pic must be of one of the first rumors of about 6 to 8 months ago.

Yep It was actually sent to me in November, but the car is not quite completed yet so it hasn't gone on the car

I never expected GRS to offer a charge cooler...

In an interview with GoMini Magazine, Graham said he had no interest in developing a charge cooler because it wouldn't lower the temperatures more than his air cooled product.

That is correct, and it was supplied with the caveat that I won't come crying to Graham if it doesn't work or break . Sorry, I should have made that clear. This is purely experimental at this stage and is not offered as an 'off the shelf' product just yet. Not until Graham has carried out all the necessary and thorough testing that he puts all his products through. This is all custom baby!

He's testing the cooler in some higher boost applications (18-19psi) M45 supercharged car. If it satisfies his criteria, then he may look to offering this for general sale.
In the meantime, this is unchartered territory...I'm going to be running 22+psi and this'll be just for cooling the air at the final stage in the cooling process, so my application bears little relevance for the purpose most people would use this for.

The only figures I'll be able to get are power figures at the wheels I'm afraid, and also delta temp across the intercooler inlet-outlet.

Cheers,

H

Very cool. I knew he was looking into another unit. I heard he was also looking at air to air plus water. I guess that may be down the road. Nice to see he's still woking on future products.
