I too want to see pics of your setup. I would be interested in a price for the whole setup...if you don't want to post it, please PM me, I'm very interested.

Very cool! Whats in the box and how much did you spend to fill the box (approx) How refreshing to have someone post numbers with their excitment of accomplishment. All the typical posturing and secrecy to protect who really knows what gets old, for me anyway. I like to hear from creative people who try things on their own, have success and share the story. Hype sells, anticipation and baiting help to create the hype. 90 and breaking loose WOW! now thats a description that leaves NO dought. Congrats Spillman and thanks for the encouragement. Funny thing is, you told us more in one post about the results of your mod than others in a thread of 1000 posts, even with all the begging. Tell us more, no baiting please

I'm a little upset... I let a friend borrow my video camera... And he decided to leave the charger out in the rain some how. I took it apart and needless to say it has a good bit of corrosion. Which would explain why my battery started smoking in my camera. So no video tonight but I will hopefully have a camera tech tomorow when the car is being dynoed. Sorry guys...

A couple grand for an intake manifold..??!!! Give me some change and an intake manifold gasket and I'll build you a sick one....I'll even put nitrous bungs in it for you!!! PM me if your interested...been wanting to do something for the mini for a while but no point on SC cars as there is not much room to get creative and removing it on my own personal car just isn't in the budget or timeframe right now.

Seann

Edit: Would need a TB gasket as well to CNC a proper flange.

There's something you don't see every day here on NAM. Someone doing something extreme on their own, actually posting numbers, parts, AND offering help to replicate their one-off kit... Way to go Spillman!

Ok im thinking about going single turbo as soon as my warrenty is up (which isnt anytime soon). Which gives me tons of time to save up a lot of cash! Although i could drop the money right this moment, i dont want to void my practicaly new warrenty just yet.

But i was wondering, how reliable is the MINI with a single turbo knocking on 300whp's front door? Or....should reliable and 300whp not be used in the same sentence when talking about the MINI???

Sorry to sound like such a noob, but is this something you could drive to work in, if you wanted? or is this strictly a "weekend warrior" type setup, that will require alot of upkeep.

If this is something i could jump in, turn the key and take off without having to worry, then this is a very attractive route for me. For instance if i wanted to make a small road trip (perhaps to a car show, maybe 3-4 hour drive) would this setup be able to handle this?

Or...if your other car was in the shop for a week, would you be able to take this car with its setup, anywhere you normally go with your Daily driver?

Would love to hear some info!

This car is my daily driver when it is not being worked on. With a different intake manifold FTR made 300whp at 17psi. That is well within the limits of the stock internals.

The hardest part is tunning... Once someone makes a reflash for the stock ecu it will be fail proof... Well not completely. You can still blow off an intercooler coupler...

you make my soul smile!

how much $$$ do you guess would be involved in just the tuning/dyno time?

I wonder what the going rate is on having this setup installed onto the car and then tuned.

I will be moving to Las Vegas in 3 weeks and i will no longer have a garage and no tools.

Only way i would be able to have this done in the future is to have it taken somewhere.

Im sure the time/labor charge will bump the price of this setup alot.

Nice! Did you guys find more clearance with the aero kit bumper? I noticed the drag car has the aero kit also.

Are you running it with the twin charge setup? Or are you going turbo only? If you are running twincharge with the FMIC is it before or after the tiny blower?

i was gunnah... but last minute i decided to go T only....cause the boost is so much more efficient.... heck you know... 28 lbs TCed I get 350 whp... but if I ran that much Turbo only... that would be like 420... LOL... so why not run like 20 lbs around town on 91... which will make about 340 WHP... only 10 less as TCed except now I have a super kewler... which will prolly net me more than 350 LOL... and then on the weekends if I am feeling frisky crank it up and use 100 octane... and go a killin! LOL... I have been so busy I haven't had time to play with my car... .so this is really fun!

I wouldn't have a problem with someone video taping. However my camera's charger is broken and I have been too lazy to buy a new one. So unless someone volunteers... It might be a while.

This is great!!
Two full pages of posts about mods making great power(with numbers!) and the willingnes of the guys to 'splain it all. And yet, NO ONE has come in an dropped the big "Negative Bomb" that so often seems to show up!
I'm never going to mod my car to this extreme, but I do appreciate the people who do by putting their thinking caps on and start making CFMIC's!!
Way to go guys!!! Jim
Hoping this thread stays Neg Free!
