Unichip has released very little information so far on the FLUX, thats because it is not out yet. My understanding that is will be realeased early 2007. Look HERE for a little bit of information they have released about it. The information I get is directly from a UNICHIP dealer so I trust that it is accurate. On that link I just posted it clearly states that it does not come with a PDA first off, you need to buy your own for that and lists the system requirements for it. Its just software and a bluetooth module for the Q series chip according to their information.

Also FLUX is already for sale through some sites, although these are pre-orders and they do not have them in stock yet. See the following taken from an online retailer:

The features that you listed off and what the FLUX is capable or is correct but I just wanted to clarify that it is not out yet, and also that The FLUX and Q Series ECU are 2 different products that you can cobine, making a useful tuning and logging tool.

Did that answer your questions?

Thanks,

Yes indeed. See post #35 on this thread.
There is some confusion on the part of the vendors advertising. Google "Unichip Flux", the language infers that, with some not all, vendors are selling something more, $1800 high, low $1200, for the Flux enabled unit. On the other hand the Q is in the $800 range, usualy listed with the word "Flux" in the description.

Hey, Thanks for making it more clear.

Yeah all the information on the FLUX is quite confusing how its being presented second hand, I think some sites are wording it certain way to push their sales. For the sake of simplicity what you see here is what you get (the exception is you will get the new Q series ecu and not the one in the pic):

  • ECU (differs from whats in picture)
  • Harness
  • Instruction
  • Keychain (If they still package it in their product, thats the black box in the bottom left)
On a side note...

If you wait and get the FLUX package, it will come with the same plus the Bluetooth adapter and software for your PDA. I would imagine they will sell that as a full setup (including the UNICHIP, and as an add on (just software and bluetooth adapter) for people who already have the Q Series ECU.

Like I said, the FLUX is actually just ECU and and Adapter, on pricing on pre-order sites it looks like the FLUX stuff is an extra $200 - $300 or so.

Haha you are going to have to take that with the UNICHIP people. But, if its anything to ya, the keychain has a built in flashlight.

Well right now its not guaranteed that and deal will be able to be cut on the FLUX, we wont know that until it is out. The group buy was arranged by MINIMort, he wanted to try and pass on some good savings for new UNICHIPS to people when he has the chance to. The demand on the FLUX will dictate if a group buy would be possible, if we can find a dealer willing to discount a quanitity of them. If the FLUX Power Display part of the system can be purchased separtely then you might be better off getting the Q ECU at this discounted price and then getting the FLUX addon when it is released next year.

Out of curiosity, which version of the UNIChip is that shown in the photograph? I was under the impression that the Version Q UNIChip had been shipping for quite some time now.

Im not sure which version is shown in the pic, I pulled that from Webb Motorsports just to try and clarify things a bit. I know the UNICHIP that I have been running is the GP Series ECU. I do believe the Q series has been out and shipping for a little while now, what I keep saying isnt out yet is the FLUX Power Display.

I will be shipping the Q series unichip, so if you have an older model, now would be the time to ditch it and get the Q for a discounted price. The FLUX should be available as an add-on as of January '07
