Our regular TiCer coating will not stick on Stainless Steel, so we decided to
use our more costly Super Ceramic Coating for even better heat rejection
and consequently cooler intake charge. We will also have a M7 silicone tube from the DDM to the throttle body shortly....

UNI filter

I know one of the previous threads had a picture of the foam filter. It's a UNI filter, red in color, basically shaped like a non-tapering cylinder and the end actually protrudes about an inch past where the cowl wall used to be, so it's got a lot of surface area. It's been thru a few rain showers and washes and I haven't seen any indication of excessive water getting into the box.

here's my car. I give this product two (no matter who designed/built/sold it or where you buy it - it rocks):

Patagonian GT - your HDI box was coated by M7 or you? I think it looks great.

thanks! I did it myself with spray on coating (that cures with heat - I used my heat gun), then topped with a semi-satin black spraypaint for durability. I did it more for cosmetics than anything...I thought the raw stainless looked a little 'race shop' to me vs. OEM.

20 minutes of bumper to bumper commuting in the summer still kept temps very cool inside the box. Popping the hood and sticking my hand in the box, it was noticably cooler than the outside. Anecdotal yes, but enough proof for me that the design works.

I installed my DDM Works intake yesterday. The box looks trick and I definitely feel and hear a difference over stock. It is a good, mild difference, which is what I wanted. To be honest I don't hear any difference at cruising speed. Throttle response is better and the butt dyno tells me it's quicker, especially at high RPM.
Installation was really straightforward and the instructions are well written and easy to follow. It took me about an hour. The only thing that was tricky was getting the stock hose back on the new DDM box. DDM recommends using a blow dryer to soften up the hose to slip it on. I removed the intercooler cover to allow for more room and it was a lot easier after that. I have an Alta hose coming from an ebay purchase.
One other thing is that the UNI filter does not slide all the way over the tube inside the box. It looked like it should but it doesn't. It only slides on like 1/2" then you tighten the clamp.
Well, I'm gonna go for a drive now. Let's motor!
