I lurk on this board more than I post. I'm more active on my other boards mainly dealing with my M3.

I always read posts about modding cars and inevitably someone asks the question "does it affect the warranty?"

I have a simple solution for this question. You have to ask yourself if you are prepared to pay for anything that may arise if they deny your claim. If you can't, - you shouldn't do it.

Asking people on this board about all these mods, then worrying about your warranty, isn't going to get you any where.

You have to pay to play!

I have a 98 M3 that I modded extensively. It's a CPO vehicle with 2 years left on the warranty. I've done my suspension and I'm getting ready to install an Active Autowerk's supercharger.

I'm not worried about the warranty because I made up my mind and decided to go ahead and do it anyway. If anything happens I'm prepared to pay for it.

Enjoy your car! Enjoy your mods!

Asking about warranty issues, trying to rationalize, isn't going to get you anywhere.

I haven't done anything other than tint on my MCS since I'm waiting to see what else is coming over the horizon.

Planning to get - pulley, header, exhaust, ecu tweak (when something good comes along), and suspension work.
