I've heard that you shouldn't mount it above the header, because if the oil leaks out it could land on the hot header, causing it to burn, then cause a fire. Is this true?

I don't think it's an issue. If it were why is Randy Webb installing all the ones he does in this location...(I got the idea from him)

Anyway they're made by m7...it's not going to leak oil -- Johan

mines pretty much right above the header also. i just made sure the heat sheilds were in right position and blocking most of the heat. no problems so far.

I've seen lots of oil fall on lots of headers. Never seen a fire.
Also keep in mind we run synthetic which is even less likely to vaporize.

Stinks like he!! though
