Do MCS have a CDV? Clutch Delay Valve

I used to have a M3 and a 540i and everyone used to drill out the CDV. It made the car drive so much better and to be more aggresive. I was just curious since Mini and BMW's are kind of similar.

looks like the answer is no for the MCS.

although the MC has a part (#12- lock valve #21526759187 in diagram in link below) that looks like one:

Are you sure?

The M3 has one and does not list it in the parts for the car. Actually, a lot of dealers do not know what it is.

I recently removed the CDV on my M3 and when driving my financees '06 MCS it really feels like it has one. The clutch engagement is sloppy and slow like my M3 used to be.

Has anyone actually taken a look under the car? I think I will check when I do the brakes.

delays the fluid in the line for a smoother engagement.

It's made to delay the clutch engagement so there is not a shock to the drivetrain. If you don't know how to drive a manual (or just beat on your car) you can dump the clutch and the force will all go to the drivetrain and cause possible damage / wheel hop / etc.

It causes more wear on the clutch (it behaves as if you are riding the clutch peddle before releasing) which is a non-warranteed part.

Now, has anyone actually looked for it? I swear the way the MCS drives it has one - although it could be the throttle delay.

Always something when BMW makes a car!

Hmmm, in my Mazdaspeed this DEFINITELY occurred, especially when it was cold and the brake/clutch fluid was thick. I wonder if the mini has one... inquiring minds want to know...
