Drivetrain New Rims went on this weekend!
Axis 17in to take ALOT of weight off the tires, with Toyo treads. It's saving me about 20lbs a Rim and now is much more responsive in 1st gear. This is my first major mod and toook 1 hr a wheel to clean and paint the calipers too. The Stock rims will stay inside as a coffee table as soon as I find a nice piece of oval glass. I'm stacking them two tall for the leggs of the table and poof, where's the coffee!

Thanks for the compliments. I picked them for their light weight and EXTREMELY simple design, less is more. Plus they seem to be the only 4 spoke on the market and that makes me feel special for more on the rims see the AXIS website. I purchased the Graphite, Gun metal look. I might keep it to match the platic body work, or paint them white (powder coat them) next year to match the look of the winter Stock 17in wheels.
I used Folia Tec, brake paint at a custom car shop I use, where I aslo got the rims. WELL worth using the right suff. The gloss is staying on and they seem to match the Indy Blue perfectly. I went blue because I did not want red, once again to be a little different, I matched the body color.

I think it looks pretty good and very unique. It would look even better on a IB/B MINI or any color/B MINI for that matter. Something doesn't look right to me with the 4 spokes but that is just my opinion. I've got to start thinking about changing wheels too. Those 17 inch S-lite's are very heavy. Have any of you every tried to lift of them. I can't imagine how "lite" can be anywhere in it's description.

40mm offset. with 205/40R17's. The ride is very smooth and handling has improved quite a bit.
Thanks, that's why I posted to share how cool they are!
Yes, I will VERY likely lower it about one inch at least with some KW coilovers, that way in the winter I can put it back up for the stock 17's.
I know of others that have lowered with 18's and have had no problems, with the wheel wells showing so much and such "minimalist" tires, I think lowering will look so much better.
