Pistons are the issue.
The stock bottom end has held up under 250-300 HP very well.

See my post in the TC vs 62 thread

I think it is great that a quality vendor like Helix is getting in the mix.... it totally supports the validity of the 62 in the Mini application..... Eric's TC has a great reputation and he sees the "point" in the 62 on the Mini.... they are different tools.....both valid.....for different results

WOW thanks for the reply. I can't believe how tough these motors are especially because there is chrysler engineering mixed in with them. I work at a Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership and man do I some some poorly engineered vehicles come through our shop. Its nice to know that BMW? put their $.02 in during the vehicle build. Damn, 300 hp in a Mini, my god!!

Sounds like there will be a race to get the first kit on the market.

M7 - sound like it's very close
Helix - sound like they haven't started R@D. Or have they?
WEBB - I would like to see them get it to market but they can't even get their exhaust on the market.
??? - who is the fourth?

I really look forward to seeing all the options.

Eric,
Now I am really wanting to get a MINi S again. I need to drive out and make sure this R&D is up to snuff. Remeber Donuts and Cheese Steaks are essential to any projects succes, and lack of them leads to an ultimate failure.

I remember him almost every day, I bought his euro shelf when he sold off his MCS parts. I think of it as Doug's shelf.

Gintani is producing a kit apart from us. We are currently not working on one, but we plan on selling Gintani's (and Eric's if he would talk to us).

You can always tell a good hammer mechanic by the number and weight range of his hammers
Although I don't know Eric that well but for a couple of phone calls, orders, emails and such for goods he delivered without dents I have been impressed with his brevity of the situation in general. Look at that classic architecture in the background.
Oh did I mention he has the best pulleys on the market.

Wanted to give everyone alittle update on our M62 kit.

We are continuing development on the kit. We just got in our second supercharger and hope to have it on the car and tuning it by Thanksgiving. We will post up dynos, some pictures and more information when we have it.

For now, here is some eye candy. Enjoy
