Some of you have been asking for pictures of the intake, so I have attached a picture of the early prototype from january 2006, a rendered image of the intake and a picture of one of the production pieces. You can read more about the intake here:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ghlight=intake

There is also some additional pictures in that thread. The allen head bolts in those pictures have been replaced with button head allen bolts that are shorter and clear the M7 Strut brace.

Take Care,
Dave

Thanks for the pics!! I was searching for pictures of it and couldn't find any.

It looks like an Alta CAI with the cover...

At first glance ...... what I will say is this .... I had the Alta on my car and it is a quality product... no doubt...... I put on the HDI more out of curiosity than any other reason..... I am very glad I did.... I am picky and like/notice fine nuances.......I feel like the low end improved and in general the car seemed to have a more punch..... truthfully, probably within the +/- of most dynos..... the feature I really like other than quality of constuction, which is very nice, is that the closed box..... which was the first I have seen, gave me back my ability to hear my exhaust note.... with the Alta the SC drowned out the Milltek, with the HDI there is a nice balance..... people that have the Alta I would think could achieve similar results with the top they now offer but I have not heard one.....no slam on the Alta but given the choice if I was buying my first intake, there is no doubt I would go with the HDI..... constuction, sound, performance...oh yes and I think it looks a lot better..... I think the HDI has the edge

Went the exact same course. I posted a thread here about it.
In short, I agree with SpiderX' post 100%.

Alta air intake install

Tried for several months to get a HDI from Webb. Had to cancel order due to complete disregard by Webb for my business. Will never do business with them again. Ordered the Alta intake with the new box top and intake hose. It was delivered promptly. Compared to the HDI, the Alta unit is not well designed and difficult to fit. Their entire system needs to be redesigned. If I did not already have it, I would definitely get the HDI, especially since there is someone handling them other than Webb. Furthermore, the intake tube, has a small tube off the side which is in the wrong position, and after considerable time and effort, could not be installed. It will be returned to Alta.
One persons personal experience: get the HDI. Do not get the Alta intake tube until it is redesigned.
If anyone disagrees, please feel free to do so.
