M7 Tuning --180F Thermostat

Any feedback out there on experience with the M7 180F Thermostat.
Everything makes sense on the claims, but have read little on NAM on such results.

Any and all input is appreciated.

What are you wanting to accomplish with a 180 degree thermostat?

Agreed. I got a set of Samco replacement rad hoses for the bling factor. i like the blue under the hood. While i was at it I figured might as well change the thermostat while the fluid is gone. Since the M7 opens a few degree's earlier than stock I went with that one and added a bottle of Royal Purple's "Purple Ice". For a 90 % street 10% weekend beating car like mine ( and majority of others) those things really aren't a necessary mod.

Well, a 180 degree thermostat isn't going to hurt anything in your car. So, I would say go for it if you want to. But, there doesn't seem to be anything that requires it.

It does reduce the coolant temperature and (on my car) reduced ignition timing retard. It will cause a cel, and that fault is emissions related. I check and clear my codes frequently enough that the fault is not stored long enough to turn the light on. If you aren't into that aspect of cars the t-stat is probably not for you.

There are some threads about this topic.
