Yes John, I'm following this bizarre thread...

Mighty cool indeed! Was hoping to tackle Rainier on the 4th of July weekend in preparations for Denali, next year... Nothing like the challenge of a mountain... I really miss it! This one in Canada is like a miniature Matterhorn, and is one I'd like to experience...

Locked yet?

I'm sure with a little research, you'll be able to find him on some other car forums. :-)

The manifold is a piece of art, but it is not designed for application with a twin charge...it's for a turbo-only setup. The manifold is a large piece, with its body taking up a good amount of space at or below the level of the original pre-SC tube (the one that the AGS replaces) and its long, individual, charge tubes running from up in front of the block and then into the intake ports on the head. It accepts charge pipes from the left only, pipes which carry air charge from a turbo setup, and it feeds that air directly into the head. For it to work with a twin charge, there would have to be room where the old SC duct was for you to feed air into the SC, space which is no longer there... In short, it's one or the other.

Hope that makes some sense. I have no desire to speak for Tuls, but I'm pretty sure that this was made from a good ol' twin charge rig. .

Wow, this thread is better than MTV!

Good luck Tul's with whatever you proceed in doing. Best of luck to you, and congrats.

it's a good assumption... but incorrect none the less. I'm not going to say any more... eventually everyone will read all about it. I do appreciate your description of how the intake works though... I wasn't able to fully picture it based on his description.

Rite Two things...

1, sad to hear Tuls has left NAM it was his car that i got (ok well STOLE now i can admit that i dont wanna get locked up for theft ) the idea for the extended Bonnet stripes, i saw a photo of his car and 4 more in some night shots and loved the thing! nice job in creating such a nice and one off mini! and the power surley that thing must torque steer like a PIG but MY GOD congrats on getting the higest BHP figure on a BMW MINI do date (that I have seen)

2, and for you peps that want a BHP figure on paper here it is..

Good Luck on you next car Tuls! your work spreads further that you think! good luck from us all in the UK

Kind Regards

Rob

Which part? From Tuls, on the manifold:

"you are correct that the SC and our manifold would not fit in the space together... the manifold does take up the space where the SC, SC intake and water pump used to be... the Throttle body remains in the same place... just bolted to the manifold..."

Perhaps you were referring to something else, though... I just figured that, if this was Tuls' car, he still had the twin charge, which excludes the manifold (yada yada yada...lol). Of course, if either this is a) not his car or b) he got his single turbo in earlier than he had told me he would (ie. not yet...), then I'm wrong. But, at least about the manifold, as you can see Tuls said this to be true.

thank you.
And this is exactly the kind of bullsh*t, that has made Tuls not want to post here any longer.
