I'm sorta surprised the main focus of this thread has become about the same old NAM'isms - how much power the car made and demanding the proof....it seems to me everyone's missed the more important thing about this thread...

a squillion horsepower or not....I wasn't happy to see that Tuls chose to stop posting here....While I've never met him, I do have to say I felt he was a stand-out personality on this forum - his contributions will be missed...

I'm hoping that even if he really stops posting on NAM that he stays part of the MINI general community. I met him at the last 2 AMVIVs and he's a really nice guy with an amazing car and incredible talent in graphic design and implementation.

I dont believe things unless I see it, and see that the results are repeatable. If 593.5 hp was made ....GREAT .....But everyone knows that you need back up what you say with the numbers or its just BS.

I think when Tuls said "boost only", he is probably implying that he's running a straight turbo which is more than capable of making the HP he logged I'm sure he's dialed it back down to something more manageble...like maybe 400+ ponies...

BS means that something is false. You are free to not believe it until you see it...that's your choice. But to actually state that his statement it BS (implying that it is in fact wrong) is totally inappropriate. You have no right to determine if something is true or false.

You are missing a HUGE point in the "argument" that you are trying to make. You state that you feel your comment is backed up by the fact that Andy@rosstech asked to see the numbers from Randy. Do you not realize that Andy's point was that VENDORS should back up the numbers for their PRODUCTS? Tuls made this post to share with us his accomplishment(s) with HIS car. He isn't advertising that this is a number any of us could achieve if we gave him money. This is something he has been working on for a LONG time. He wanted to let us know where all of his hard work has gotten him. If he doesn't feel the need to share the dynos...that's his choice. You still have no right to call BS unless you of course have proof that it's false.

If you require proof of things so much.....why not give us PROOF that what he said was false? Do you have any "numbers" to prove that he didn't get that HP? Hypocritical.

 

personally...... I think it sucks that you are retiring from NAM..... I really enjoyed spending time with you at the Dragon and was looking forward to many more such "occasions" .... I feel like I am losing a friend and that is a bit sad no tears but less joy

Tuls as far as your credibility..... if you tell me the sun is coming up blue tomorrow, then I'd look forward to the "event"

Tuls has done a great thing. He clearly knows his business. He passed on the info to the community ... he climbed Mt, Everest.

Can't we all just appreciate his efforts without squabbling? Let it be and move on and appreciate the guy for what he has done.
