If it's a pulley or intake you are looking for, I highly reccomend the WMS products. In my opinion they are a little bit superior than the Alta.
Just curious but your reasons for thinking this would be ?

The twin WMS logos on the Webb Pulley are more aerodynamic, plus there are 2 logos. (As opposed to 1). So, whatever hp gain a logo adds, the WMS is adding it twice. They are also unique in the fact that if you turn the pulley "upside down", you can still read BOTH logos. (Not one, but BOTH).

As for the HDI Intake, the only reason I say it's superior to the Alta is because:
1. My buddy who tested it, told me.
2. Alta is now making a similar style box, which is testament to Webb's design.

Good reasons eh? .... I really like em.

It was a business decision.
Ask Randy or Brain privately. Discussing it here on a public forum does no one any good.

And Alta products didn't wear the WMS badge they wore the Alta badge. Stating your question as "not worthy" also sounds contentious.

It's a business direction that Randy discussed on a White Roof Radio interview. He was installing and promoting Alta products before anyone knew the brand. As Alta became known and popular, many other vendors picked up the brand, and now there is less reason to purchase Alta products from Randy. This is something that can happen with any third party product he sells, so he is taking the direction of developing and promoting his in-house line of products.

I don't see the need to lock a thread for the pleasure of the peanut gallery. Thread locking should be used for three things, nuts & bolts , safety to members , and limitation of unjustified personel attacks. Not for playing around fun pokes.

I think it is just silly for people to jump in and say "lock this thread" after their point was made. Of course not allowing for any opposing view point. There is a toppled group in Afganistan that would love more members like you thread lockers.

Well, all I can say after reading this drama-riffic thread is................................................ ....

If you guys work as hard to fix these current problems as you have in progressing Mini aftermarket products, then you'll be the perfect Mini shop.

Best of luck Webb!!!!

I know you are replying with a sense of humor and it is nice to see that on the boards now and then. I was honestly curious as to what you may or may not have heard regarding the Alta verses Webb items fact wise. So with the pulley there is really no hard facts and as for the " design " of the HDI it really couldn't have taken that long to find a off the shelf Uni filter , make the same box as anybody else out of different material and put a hole in the bulkhead. To me it looks like he provided a hell of a guide for the Do It Yourself crowd and for a lot less money. The fact that Alta copied the " design " is not much of a testament to their own beliefs in their product either. Oh and as for your buddy , if he jumped off the bridge would you ... You get the idea LOL. Any way thanks for the confirmation .

Ok... I guess you need a more serious reply.

- I believe that most of the different types of pulleys produce the same gain hp wise, so after that it comes down to reliability, ease of install, and asthetics. Believe it or not, asthetics, or the look of the pulley matters alot to alot of people. (Me for example). For me, the current WMS is the second best looking one out there. The best is the "WMS 500 Air Buster" one that is polished shiny, and not sold any more. (It was a limited edition). Some can probably be custom made on request, but dont count on it.

- As for the HDI. Of course, a simple concept, as you imply, probably not worthy of the word "design". But if it is so simple, why didnt you (or others) bring it to market? Simple or not, it's a great intake, that looks really good, especially with a WMS badge on it. It obviously performs better than stock, and as well as air intakes get. It is also the only intake that is in direct competition (style, price, ease of install, performance) with the Alta.

Now.. as to jumping off of bridges. If buddy knew how to do it, and land in one piece, and could show me how, then you goddamn right I would.

I'll just have to be ready for the people waiting at the bottom who will tell me that it was probably easy to do anyway.

Back on topic...

Brian/Randy/et al - I have sent a couple PMs regarding my replacement resonator (as Brian requested), I have replied in this thread, I have sent MANY emails, and I have called many times and gotten voicemail.

Long story short: I still have no info as to when I can expect this item, and it's been over a month since I requested the warranty replacement, and nearly a month since I was told it would ship.

There have been no personal attacks made in this thread that I can see, just completely valid customer service concerns from frustrated people who feel they have no other outlet. There is no need for the emotionally attached to attempt to silence NAM members who have *legitimate* customer service concerns.

We all have families - families are great. You know what my family says?

"Mark, that sound is really annoying. Why haven't you fixed it yet?"
