Over heating...electrical fan isntall?
Ok so I am curious from the people on the board that have experienced the same issue that I have. I have a '06 MCS and live in the bay area where traffic is pretty rough some days. Now on hot days my car takes a dive. I will be sitting in traffic on my way home and due to the amount of heat soak and no air passing through the front of the car at a normal rate the tempurature climbs to the point of me having to turn my car on and then off when I need to move ot prevent the car from completley overheating. Now dont get me wrong when I say this because I am a true diehard BMW fan, but I think this may have been a design flaw on the engineers part. I knwo that there is an auxillary fan that is supposto come on but for some reason everytime my car reaches that "boiling point" it does not kick in. So I am wondering if anyone here on the boards has installed a separate auxillary fan that is controlled by a swtich inside the car to reduce the amount of heat stored in the engine bay? Has anyone else had this similar problem or am I alone on this one?
Thanks
Thanks
Thanks guys for your input. But I also am curious if anyone has installed any puller/pusher fans on the radiator unit that is controlled by an aux switch on the inside of the car? I would assume that this could be a good thing since it could be manually controlled then.
Thanks any input is accepted.
