Piper Cross Cold Air Intake

Yes ladies & gentleman, I have installed the very first performance mod on my '02 MCS!! Pretty scary. Unfortunately, I am looking for seat of the pants feel and I didn't get it (not like I expected to feel anything out of 4 HP gain). I am looking for AA (audible atitude). I do hear more supercharger whine but not enough (and only at full throttle and max RPM) and I hate to replace a perfectly good exhaust considering we have emissions testing in PA. Will the 15% pully be enough to give me AA (or keep me out of it)?? I have my classic race car but understand I am 18 years old at heart!!

pulley makes a little difference

I have a helix CAI and 15% pulley the pulley makes the car a little louder at full RPM but not much, but what a difference in performance. I did the GAIC ECU mod with my pulley so not sure how must to attribute to each.

If it's sound you want go with an exhaust. I don't think a Cat back system will effect emmisions testing in PA.

God, I wish they wouldn't make exhausts so bullit proof anymore cause I have a hard time replacing a perfectly good muffler (I remember the day when they rusted out first). I love performance, but expect it mostly from my race car. I like my street car to have some S$#T under the hood but being that it doesn't go on the track or the dyno, I want it to sound fat!

no sheit

I know what you mean I cut perfectly good exahusts off many cars while working at my dad's shop and said how dumb it was. Now i have the stock exhausts off my last two cars in the rafters of my garage. :impatient

Cut it off! You can always put it back on! And if you want loud, I've heard the Magnaflow and Randy's are the best to go for. Randy's is quite a lot at ~$900, but it sure is loud (and a said ~10+hp gain from the Magnaflow) and there is also a valve that you can get to open and close the exhaust to make it loud/quiet. Check out the thread.

Edit* I just bumped it. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=53790

Of course, the exhaust will produce only half the HP gain of a pulley, at twice the cost. If you want noise, just cut a couple of holes in the muffler cans...
