Wait a second, it doesn't? What the hell is it for then if not for reduction of gas consumption? 15% reduction in gas consumption, right?

I think the notion goes to MINI TALK thread where people were arguing about the pulley and gas consumption. I gave up because I frankly didn't care anymore.

Is the ALTA 15% pulley under warrenty? they seems to be the most popular brand for pulley.

Thanks

Not to the point that they will cover the manufacturer's warranty if there is a denial of warranty by MINI/BMW. And please don't anyone start quoting Magnusson-Moss as the great protector of the consumer against the big bad wolf of MINI/BMW. Check this thread out before starting to quote M-M:

You seem to be concerned about messing with what is a critical consideration for you - the reliability of your ride (daily driver). You may have issues; you may not. The only sure-fire way to be sure that you won't have issues is to go the JCW package route. That way, you have got MINI/BMW on the hook for any issues (including pinging) that might happen as a result of the upgrade. There may be some angst regarding the price of the JCW upgrade, but you do get one thing for sure - peace of mind regarding warranty coverage and avoiding any issues regarding denial of warranty in the future because of aftermarket parts on the car.

It is OK. We did it to my 2006 MCS when it had only 900 miles on it. I witnessed Randy Webb installing the final pulley of the Oakland Pulley Party whereby he said, "This pulley is number 799 that I have installed." In addition, the Mini factory makes cars to sell that have these kinds of mods.

Like you, I need my car. I drive all over northern CA for sales, marketing and client meetings. So, like you, I am cautious. Unlike you, I won't take it on the track because I must have it for my job.

Call me biased, but I'd say go for a Webb Motorsports pulley he's got the warranty if you're interested, and will loan out the puller if you need it.
Randy is THE best source for complete aftermarket support.

FWIW, I'm not sure what MINIotaple's issue is, but it does seem he's got issues...

People HAVE had issues with modding, but CAI/15% is a standard, no muss no fuss mod.

Is the Webb pulley a 15% pulley? On there web site it does not give the persentage of the pulley just the gain numbers.
