I know the system is louder than stock, which I am ok with. My question is, does the car vibrate/rattle with the magnaflow exhaust?

Thanks,

Paul.

I have ran all of the "big 3" (Borla, Quicksilver, Magnaflow) systems on my car. Currently running the Magnaflow.

No rattles with the Magnaflow BUT.... tons of rattles with the MINI!!!!

My MCS NEVER had a single rattle or vibration. Installed the Magnaflow and it vibrated and buzzed like there was no tomorrow. Specifically from the passenger side dash, the front sunroof area and both doors near speakers.
I took the Magnaflow off and all these vibrations and buzzes have disappeared.
Miss the get up and go of the exhaust, but not the unfortunate side effects.

Installed my MagnaFlow yesterday. No rattle but do get a little buzz if I let up on the gas when driving in the lower gears. Nothing unpleasant for now. I fully anticipated the deep throaty exhaust tone.

I have had the Magnaflow for 3 weeks. The last week I have developed an annoying dash buzz. It is rpm related and definitely Magnaflow related. :???:

The rattles are a chronic problem that is MINI related. The more miles and time = more rattles.

The Magnaflow being the "Darth Vader" of all exhausts can help emphasize those rattles a little sooner but even without the exhaust you will ultimately experience the wonderful rattles the MINI has to offer. I blame, yet love to the fullest, MINI themselves.

Just ask Dave in Denver, I love finding new rattles on his 20,000 mi. + car. (I can't seem to figure out why he doesn't let me ride with him anymore??)

I've had the Magnaflow for about a month now and it is the only mod so far. At first I experienced some rubbing (a major vibration) and after fixing that I had some heat shields vibration. I think I've got it taken care of for now but I'll wait and see what happens in the future. The Magnaflow does change the interior tone, there are some very small buzzes and vibrations but I've noticed in the past anytime you change the exhaust in a car the interior acoustics change. It sure makes some power and sounds sweet!

I have that buzz in the dash somewhere. It isn't related to anything else other than the car running. Not related to throttle or speed. I have noticed on quick right turns, it goes away.....until I make a left turn? However, I don't have an exhaust system yet.

Thanks for all your input, I will probably go with the Quicksilver which seems like the perfect exhaust for me. Good power increase over stock, light weight, great fit and finish, and from what I have read no one is complaining about its sound.

I will wait untill we organize a group buy from Randy.

Paul.

Those rattles definitely develop whether you have the Magnaflow or not, but I think the Magnaflow does speed up the process a bit (as does the Borla or Quicksilver).

The Magnaflow is actually a little smoother in my opinion compared to the QS as far as interior rumble, but it's definitely louder.

I really want to thank all of you guys for being loyal to MINI Cooper Motorsport - it feels good to have the support with how much time I spend here on MCO!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Randy
