I read somewhere on the internet that Ohio's not really a state because of something like that.
For those who think your state laws have something like a 110db limit you might want to check again, 110db is insanely loud, something close to standing next to an idling jet fighter. Usually they fall in the range between 85 and 95db, 110db is something like 8-9 times louder than 95db.
Maybe he's thinking of the Declaration of Independence as not being legal? I get a lot of people that list the "inalienable rights" as being protected by the constitution to justify whatever as being part of the pursuit of happiness.

In fact, the amendment process is specifically described in Article V of the Constitution itself.

oh btw ;
what's wrong with society goes waaaaay deeper than singing cuumbyaa around the rainbow colored fire light . the total lack of responseability for our actions as demonstrated here with the opener ,and a total lack of respect for authority of any kind be it our elders or law enforcement is at the root of what's wrong today . look at the bailouts , everyone feels entitled to a hand out, to "get theirs" . instead of sucking it up and shrugging off the govt. hold on us we gave the govt. a huge chunk of us . nothing's any better . we could learn from ussr but guess not . 5 yrs. ago people were screaming about the housing market but congress wouldn't act , now here we are . but we are progressive .

Call me whatever you wish, but I personally feel that the attitude of "I'll make as much noise as I want to and pollute as much as I want to 'cuz I'm a free American, and to hell with everyone else" is an example of what's wrong with our society, not an example of what makes it great.

And HH - I'm still curious about your reasoning as to why the Bill of Rights "isn't a legal document" and is "not worth the paper it's printed on". I'm fully expecting you to come back with some jailhouse lawyer BS you found on "teh interwebs" about it not being valid because it was written in the wrong color ink or because some state was two days late in ratifying it.
you right i'm wrong i meant d of i . but as far as rights . i think we both know when it comes right down to it you only have what you're allowed to have . we have the right to bear arms (and dont give me the militia bs ) but soon those will be taken and by force . so you go try out your rights some time and see if you dont land in a cell somewhere .

I've been hearing the "Oh noes - the gubmint's gonna take our guns/speech/religion" banshees wailing for a *long* time, but on the whole, I have a little more faith in our lawmakers when push comes to shove.

If you look at all of the Constitutional amendments with the exception of the 18th, every one that deals with personal rights & freedoms has expanded those rights & freedoms, not restricted them.

Plus, things like concealed-carry laws have been expanded greatly in the last 20 years, the stupid flag-burning amendment never went anywhere, and the Washington D.C. gun ban has been ruled unconstitutional, so there are still lawmakers and judges out there on our side.
