Drivetrain Alta's new Turbo Kit
It will not work with the stock cat, but one could be installed. We don't plan on offering one with a cat, but you never know! The 2nd 02 Sensor is still there and installed. We are making an 02 SIM for it to act like there is a cat installed. Another product in the upcoming months you will see.
I might be going out on a limb here, but I'm thinking that maybe you weren't quite ready to release this product yet? If you don't have figures and numbers to provide from an actual install, how can you expect people to be buy
...Maybe it's just me, but I'd prefer to see a proven product before I spend my hard earned cash. Don't get me wrong, I think the system looks great and hope it works well - Heck, I want one. But don't rush it just to get it out before you dial it in.

Thats the way 90% of vendors work these days. There's very little money to be had slinging someone elses products the only way to make a good buck is to design your own stuff. Sadly at the same time it's hard to find a budget to design a product, test a product manufacture a product and sell a product.
The dollar versus timeline just is not there for a lot of vendors. Heck just the mandrel bends for Alta's I/C pipes and downpipe is probably a few bucks. Keep in mind they they probably did not produce only 5 or 10.
As a consumer I fully agree with you but the side of me that works in a shop that works in fabrication know's how these guys feel.

If a customer wants our 3" exhaust, it will have a 2.5" flange at the front to bolt to other headers and our TC kit. So there will be a small area of 2.5" in the 3" system. This small area will not effect HP on any of these cars. That way there will be no custom work to be done to get it to fit. All bolt on.

saakey,
We built the kit mainly for the SEMA show since we didn't want to put of our competitors parts on our car. But from the show and peoples interests leading up to the show, it became something we were going to offer to everyone. Do to the demand of the public, we gave a ship date of the kits. This allowed the pressure from everyone to subside for a while while we built them. We did this because we didn't want to promise something in 2 month to everyone and have it be 12 months before it ships. We have done this to people before, and it does nothing but make everyone made. So we missed the date by 5 days, but still delivered what everyone wanted.
With this short time of proto to final, there wasn't dyno runs done on 10 cars, and tests to see the max wheel HP. This will all come when the Hydra is shipping. As the base kit at its lowest boost will make very safe power and less boost than a 19% pulley. So with that said, the base kit isn't going to make the biggest power ever, which isn't worth going through tons of dyno pruving.
With that said, the kit is very simple and the idea is very simple. So besides proper design, which we can do, the rest is pretty simple stuff. Things like the lowest boost, and melting issuse are all things that have been worked out a long time ago. The rest is just having engine managment to control the beast.
With the Hydra, we will offer them tuned with levels from lowest boost setting, all the way to 22psi and above.
So your right in we should have waited until the Hydra was shipping before releasing the kit, but with the demand from people, and the willingness of customers to buy an AFC and injectors, we felt it was ok to release the kits.
The hydra is just around the corner, and you will see dyno numbers with the Hydra tuned at the low boost setting, High boost setting and some points in between.
uae mini,
The stock ECU will be left in place, and only a couple of things piggybacked to it. Just not as much as before.

Well it isn't something we have posted, but it is machined into the part, so who ever buys the kit will know what size it is. So the secret, if it ever was one, is out. The +5% SC pulley as well as the 0%, both of which are made specifically for TC kits, are $150.
It is not on our site yet but will be soon.

Dyno Results!
We will be making a more formal post, but our customer this weekend did 240WHP and 195ft-lbs of torque with our TC kit. Running our injectors and an AFC. Boost was set with our manual boost controller to 19psi. There are other mods but those are the basics! We should have graphs very soon!

So the parts above the kit you have sitting there is:
AFC-2 the newer one
Our 550 injectors
Our Manual boost controller
And a fuel pump like ours(he used a fuel pump that doesn't have the correct pickups so around corners it was cutting out.
If you are going to run more than the lowest boost setting you will need these parts and a custom tune. JCW software and injectors will work for the 16ish PSI at the low setting.

So i assume your talking about the A'PEXI AFC II? If I install just the kit as I have it now onto a stock MCS except exhaust, will I need to do anything else right away to be safe? I know that it should be tuned & it will be, I just dont want to install the kit & take it around the block only to find out that I kicked a bunch of CEL codes.
Update....baseline dyno tests will be done this Friday(3/24/06) on a dynojet. This is prior to the twurbo install. The kit will be installed in the next 2-3 weeks depending on my spare time at the moment. I would of had it done last week, but I didnt get the car back till monday from the dealer for the tranny work done(as posted in sig).
Thanks
