So I have a question.

Somebody mentioned it's because of the ECU programing. But what if we re-program the ECU with GIAC or MTH?

Poping sound gonna go away?

I have the GIAC and the popping went away for awhile then came back. So not entirely sure. I have an 05 MCS.

Do you have the GIAC kit which includes 380cc JCW and %19?

If you do, buy one that just had the 15K service done, drive it for a year or two and sell it. The service cost can be astronomical, 4 services from a dealer equals a new MCS . Everyone should get a chance to own one at least once in their life as there is nothing like the sound of a Ferrari, but while the price of admission might be attractive, the costs of the drinks is really friggin steep. Something to bear in mind.

As long as parts are not too expensive, i can handle the maintinence myself, even if maintenece requires removing the motor to do something like a timing belt change (i seem to hear bad things about timing belts in Ferraris)

The only bad thing is that i dont have a Ferrari dealer around here, the nearest is about a 3 hour drive away, so getting parts would probably be a pain.

thats very true ragarding fcars. the older the car gets the more expensive to service my car is a 98 i t has 10k miles just did the service and it cost me almost 12k. 98 355 even has hydrolic valves. the older ones does not which means more money on service .

Am I reading this right, it cost $12,000 for a 10,000 miles service on your Ferrari? I've always heard it costs $1K just for the mechanics to pop the hood but

Trouble is (I heard this from a friend of mine, but I havent confirmed it) that getting parts can be a real problem. Apparently some dealers won't actually sell you replacement parts. You actually have to order them from the factory or hunt around for a dealer who will retail the parts.

Got an update about this...we have located it in the ECU....we will be testing applicable modifications as soon as we can get some time to run through 02-04 and then 05s...or visa versa....which is harder cause I don't have an 05...I'll let you know when I know more....it maybe a little as I am heading out of town...but at least we are on the way
