P1498

I'm getting this code after I installed a TB. I did a search and found that this has happend to another guy after installing a AGS. Usually just my EML light will pop on, but sometimes the check engine light too.

Here is the code: P1498 Manufacturer Controll Auxiliary emission Controls

Any Ideas? Thanks -- Johan

It's probably in the vacuum tube leading to your tb. Did you use a new clamp or did you try the old one or no one? Check the clamp on that line....

You won't need it. It hardly moves. Just tighten them as much as you can, doing the screws diagonal each other in series once more after they seem to be tight.

Thanks for all the help but I keep getting the damn code and it's really starting to irritate me because I can't seem to fix it. I replaced the vacume line and put on new clamps. I do tighten the bolts in a cross pattern to get even torque, I was thinking mabye there weren't tight enough. I don't want to really wrench on them and break a bolt though. Again thanks for the support -- Johan

I'm starting to think that my car has a Gremlin living under the hood LOL

Sorry to hear that this isn't fixed. Did you by any chance move the pre-SC tube much when you took off the TB? IF you did, you could get a leak right at the SC to tube interface, and that's a tight one to fix [you'd need to pull the radiator shroud forward and stuff, take off the tube [it's held on by one screw], and re-seat it]. That's a lot of work, but you could easily be getting the leak there. Sorry I don't have better news.

Anyone else have any ideas before he does this?
