Thanks for the info. I really can't believe your mileage. That BBR software has to be awsome to give you that kind of number for hwy. SpiderX and I both get about 22 hwy without your gearing. I guess I'll have to investigate that software. Can you tell me how much it was and how long it took to send your ECU to them. I'll have to find their website and get info. Thanks for the numbers.

Well...those are the calculations. I don't know what else to say. The software was around $1100 US. How it works is you call them and tell them your mods. They ship a cable and email software that reads your ECU. You email it to them. They ship you back the software to download and install.
There are lots of mods that we do here in the US that in BBR's opinion are a complete waste. The more i think about it, they may be right. The main mods that make power are the pulley and headwork. They don't recommend for most applications CAI, headers, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Read the website, call and speak to David Brodie. He has some interesting practical opinions which seem to come from experience. In many ways they are the opposite of some of the US tuners. Their R & D is pretty extensive, they fabricate in shop many of their own parts, and they don't recommend stuff you don't need. All that to say, yes the software is a bit costly, but if you take into account some of the money we throw away on mods that don't make any power, then it all evens out. It is unfortunate that i didn't speak to them earlier on. Peace!

Thanks again. When you think of the price of a Unichip thats $700.00 plus I guess the price is not that bad. If it can give those kind of mpg. numbers you'd make up the difference in gas alone. Are you going to get an update for your gear change? are updates part of their pkg?
Thanks again and have a great New Year.
Thanks again and have a great New Year.
I was thinking of an upgrade, not necessarily because of the gears. The software on the car is set at around 7700 rpm. I was going to take it up to 8100 rpm and ask them to lean it out a bit on the low end. After giving it some deep thought, all these hp numbers are a bit overrated. Getting behind the wheel of this car is an amazing experience. Yes, the software could be tweaked for perhaps yet more fuel efficiency and hp, but there are other things like improving my driving skill and learning to be smooth with a stage 3 clutch and these gears that are probably of more use both on the track and street. So, maybe the software upgrade will come when i upgrade my driving skill to the level car is at now. Peace.
