Looks like I've opened a can of worms How long has this issue with Miltek be known?

I've asked Brian at WMS to reach Randy for his comments. I'm prayn that Miltek will be able to help or this is my last purchase of their product

Yes Sid that would do it no doubt, as the computer is seeing, low voltage, or the voltage swing is corrupted, to the point where the Venom computer
sees that as a lean engine situation and thus automatically stops N2O flow.

The Venom computer uses the rear O2 sensor as its safety check?

It uses the front.

P0420 shows up when the rear O2 sensor reports to the ECU that its readings are too similar to the front, hence that the cat isn't doing its job. Unless you were also getting fault codes showing that the front O2 sensor was seeing too lean of a mixture, I don't see the correlation between the nitrous and your fault code.

As the CAT get's plugged up from a collapsing core (High back pressure,) temps could rise to a higher then normal levels ahead of the CAT,
giving abnormal readings to the N2O computer...

what are the most important engine parameters that should be monitored when using NOS?

I know that the Venom kit monitors A/F with two lights red and green but what else is usefull and important?

Great...My cat has constipation That would explain why my MPH sucks...it's down to 21 Strange, my Mini flew like a rocket last night with the nitrous on Better stay off the gas as my luck would have me blowing a head gasket

A/F and EGT (exhaust gas temp) would be the most important....

It is the Venom. It is "85-90hp". I also have the silver (clear) nozzle. Venom told me that the black was for V8's, and the clear was for "race only V8's". Should I try it? Oh, it is a dry system as well...

P.S. My last trip to the drag strip resulted in 5 passes in which it shut down, and threw the engine light... They would have been wicked low thirteens if not a 12.__.

So the nitrous computer has an EGT gauge as well? I thought it only used the rear O2 sensor's voltage to determine go/no-go.

No. What he's saying is that the higher exhaust temps "could" cause and erratic reading on the front O2 sensor. I see nothing in his post that says the Venom computer reads EGT, so don't put words in his mouth.

Oh yeah, the Venom computer uses the front O2 sensor.

ok Thanks Peter,
where is the probe for an EGT placed?
do you drill a hole in the exhaust and fit the probe or is it good enough to measure the temp of the exhaust itself, ie place the probe on the outside of the exhaust?

the correct placement is about a tube diameter from the exhaust port; given that the mini has a header, you really are going to be able to measure only one cylinder unless you fit four sensors.

How far off if you measure from the collector?

the mini collector is a tightass, crimped down little joint; you could probably put a sensor there and get some sort of average reading that might be of use, but I wouldn't know how to corellate it to port readings: the readings would be different because of the distance and the combined flows

????

also does anybody know of a reasonable place to purchase some sensors?
e.g. nitrous pressure sensor, EGT, and some water and oil temp sensors,
I don't need the gauges only the sensors.
