new clutch suggestions..

Well...my clutch is finally starting to slip, and i told myself that when it goes, its getting replaced with a better one. Before I purchase one, I wanted to see what you guys have tried and what you thought of them. Also keep in mind that this is for a MC. I also was thinking about getting a light weight flywheel at the same time if the price is reasonable.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Talk to Fidanza in Perry, Ohio. They do great work as far as flywheels go.

Just be willing to accept a rattling flywheel noise when the clutch is depressed, that's the trade off with light flywheels.

Question? How long does a MINI clutch last?

It all depends. Our mileage leader, Dpilgrim, had his replaced at nearly 120k miles and he auto-x's some. If you spend most of the time on the highway, you could expect over 100k miles on a clutch as long as you take care of it and don't burn it when accelerating. If you sit in traffic all the time, then it could be 40-50k miles.

Is that a mini light flywheel trait? Ive put lightened fly's in 2 of my civic track cars, and one of my civic daily drivers, and never had any "rattle"...

Well...I plan on eventually switching to the 6-speed gearbox in about a year to a year and a half, so the flywheel doesn't really seem practical at this point, but more so after the 6speed, since I would not be able to still use it.

I am more concerned with the clutch right now, since I will have to order one within a week or two. With that said, I am really wanting to hear about people's experience with aftermarket clutches, and any feedback and recommendations based on my setup. I dont need anything crazy, just stronger than stock.

Thanks,
Matt
