Anyone know the driver seat weight?
Anyone installed aftermarket seats?
Warranty issues with removal of stock seats?
Thanks.

Side airbags gone...little red light on. That will be the end result.

depends which seats you get...the torino and milanos you can...the others are fixed back like the Rev. These can be put on sliders but I can't see access to the back being easy if sitll impossible. Some of the sliders i've seen have titls on them so you can actually lean the whole seat up thus making it somewhat accessible form the passenger seat. I plan on removing the rear seats anyway so doesn't matter for me and I hope to put in Sparco Rev Seats

GRM mag states the sport seats are 47 lbs. each, the standard cooper seats 45 lbs. each.

I don't think there are any warrannty issues considering stock seatbelts and everything still functions correctly. I will be using a clip in harness for autocross and the stock set up for normal driving.

The only thing I have heard is if you have the dealer turn off your airbag light you have to sign a waiver holding them faultless if airbags fail.

This is all stuff I have just "heard" through other posts so I cannot verify the veracity of it all.

Logically, it seems the seat is a separate "entity" of it's own which doesn't effect much around it so if my tranny breaks they can't say my new seat caused it

Use caution with fixed back seats, Casey. They may pose a safety issue in the event of a rollover if you don't a a roll bar.

You see it all the time - cars with these seats without rollover protection, and hopefully will never be an issue. Just research it before you make the decision.

Yup - if i get the Revs there will be a cage and harnesses. I agree fixed back without some sort of protection via a cage is stupid. Now where I am stuck is how big of a cage do i need. Is a rear cage enough or not...I wouldn't mind putting in a rear cage - would look cool as well - the rear seats are useless anyway...now a full cage I feel is a bit too much for road use....so depending if a rear cage is enough i will get the revs.

Randy,
You must of missed the pics of the rolled Mini. Perhaps it doesn't need a
rollbar????

Casey,

You'd be fine with a rear roll bar, as long as it isn't just cosmetic. It needs to have sufficient wall thickness and diameter to actually afoord you some protection. The drawback is the additional weight.
