Intercoolers and AC

Why not use the AC system to cool the IC to below ambient? While its on, it's creating a strain on the engine without helping it. Packaging problems yes, but why not? Whacky???

The new concept Lightning uses this idea and its patented by Ford. What they're doing is storing up a charge of compressed freon in a holding tank that gets released at WOT and the compression is regenerated at a later time. Think of it as a self-filling phase change intercooler sprayer.

Okay, so I'm not a moron. I imagine this would be extrememly benefical at WOT times as well as an aid to recovery.

Your still not going to get 100% efficiency. Running with the A/C off is going to give the best power. Too bad the current design turns the A/C off after 4 seconds at WOT (climbing a hill) and not whenever the pedal hits the floor.
