full or cat back only?

hi all

need to decide if i should go the FULL or cat back only exhaust for miltek...

any suggestions? i ask because money is limited.. so if by having the full exhaust im only gaining a few extra hp when compared to having only catbck then i wont bother .

I personally would recommend the full exhaust. The header is a huge choke point on our exhaust. I am very happy with mine, I noticed a good deal more top end and a much deeper tone. The miltek is very expensive, and IMO, there is no significant reason to buy that header over others that are out there.

I purchased the megan header from pilo racing, and it is only a fraction of the price, very well made. The only thing is that it does not have a catalytic converter, but i have a highflow further downstream...right after the header. I say go for all of it.

Also...there is a pre-cat along with the full cat in the header...one of the reasons it is so restrictive.

This is something that is subjective to each person, whether or not to piece it out or get it all at once! Look to the facts and hopefully the solution will present itself to you! (e.g. money, gains, sound (inside and out))

Milltek catback, you stand to gain 8-9hp and ~8ft/lbs of torque. Sound - minimal inside the cabin while it is noisey outside. Probably about $700 plus shipping.

Milltek Header, you typically gain 7-9hp plus matching torque. Sound is increased, is it bad, again different to everyone. Cost about $900 + shipping. The gain should be noticeable but not earth shattering! (purely speaking from my Civic days). You get more grunt down low via the added torque and throttle response is improved.

If money is an issue, personnally, I would spring for the catback first, then go back and get the header. Although the downside is obviously losing the discount by ordering them both at the same time.
