MINI-friendly performance shops New York State

Are there any good, reputable MINI-friendly performance shops (like Helix, Webb Motorsports, etc.) in the Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse or Albany Areas? Any you could recommend would be great.

I'm looking for a shop that could put on a 15% pulley, perhaps GIAC ECU upgrade too. If they have a dyno on premesis, that'd be even better!

Thanks.

Rats! Randy Webb was just in the Buffalo area a few weeks ago for a pulley party. After getting a 15% pulley installed and experiencing him at work, I'll be giving him my business in the future. Otherwise I'm not familiar with any "local" MINI shops in the upstate / Finger Lakes area. You might head over to http://www.webbmotorsports.com/forums/ and look for locations of upcoming Webb Pulley Parties.

That would've been Schweet! I didn't hear about it at all!

Thanks anyway...

Thë_cöpi, report on pulley...

Hi thë_cöpi,

so how do you like your 15% pulley? Was it a night and day difference compared to stock?

Do you have any ECU upgrades? If so, did you feel a difference there too?

Lastly, how's your fuel economy compared to stock, better or worse?

Thanks a lot!

I love the pulley upgrade! However, it's not like adding a V8 or anything, so please do not get the impression that the difference is THAT dramatic. But I am impressed by the difference the pulley makes - noticably more torque at low revs. High rev's are pure enjoyment! I also changed to Denso IK22 plugs when I got the pulley. I already had a MINI Madness CAI.

I'm running the stock ECU & exhaust.

Fuel economy - could be the same on highway trips, but the smileage since the pulley is too good not to put it to use! So, more data is needed to get an accurate post-pulley reading for gas mileage. I've probably dropped a little mpg for now, although my calculations show I'm averaging what I did with the stock pulley. I'm busy having fun with the car to be concerned about gas mileage.
