At what mileage did you add pulley?

I am carefully breaking in my car and will wait to over 1250 miles before I add the ALTA 15% and GIAC/Evotech/or UniChip software.

At what mileage did all of you start adding your pulleys and software?

Thank you,

Andreas

My car is at the dealer, awaiting the Aero kit and my pulley is at Speedware Motorsports, along with my AGS and Miltek. I'll drive it from the dealer directly to Speedware for installation of those upgrades.

I got the milage down to less than 15MPG but my arms got very tired and my passanger needed the bags from the Dragon trip (only mod).

I've just passed out of warranty (50K) so now I'll add the pulley/software. I figured I'd wait a while to make sure the motor was 'well-seasoned' before I did any engine mods...So, now it's a go!!

I see a trip to Helix in the not-too-distant future.

About 13 months, about 8500 miles I think. If I was getting a new MINI, I'd do it the 1st week.

over 20K.... If the car had issues and needed to go back the dealer I didn't want to have to argue over mods... I figure after 20K the kinks would be out

04 at about 5,000.

New 05, still breaking in like you. I'm going to do a pulley, intake, GIAC soon after break-in is finished. I want to see what stock will really do before doing the mods.... I want to experience the contrast. My real reason for waiting til after break-in? I can hardly keep this dang thing under 5k as it is. Mods at this time will only tax my self-control further.

At ~45,000 miles while at the Dragon last month, figuring that by the time I got back to L.A., I'd be out of warranty, anyway.

Also got the Unichip and Wanda is an awesome little beast! She was really quick before, but now......VAROOOOM!

My 2002 MCS now has ~30K. I added ALTA CAI at ~10K, changed tires & wheels to 16" ROTAs & Falken ZIEXs at ~15K. The ALTA CAI was a real performance kick.

An 15% ALTA pulley went on at ~20K & MTH software at ~22K, with several MTH updates since then.

A Mini Madness rear bar was added at ~25K. Blizzak winter tires (on ugly black 15" steel rims) were mounted last winter. Various cosmetic additions come an go as the mood dictates.

The only good thing about prolonging the pulley is feeling the difference when you finally put the pulley on. I put mine on at around 13k, way too late.

If I were you, I would put it on as soon as I feel I know how much power stock MINI has ( 500 miles?? lol), because feeling the difference was one of the best parts. Dont forget to put an Alta intake on at the same time. It does add power also, contrary to what some clowns may say.
