How to install M7 Throttle body

M7 DID NOT INCLUDE ANY INSTALLATION INSTRUCCIONS.
I think you should.

I already installed the 400cc injectors: No Problem; and then GIAC programa for the 19% pulley. Very smooth.
When I installed the throttle body, I encountered some problems.
1. The fitting for the vacuum hose that goes under the intercooler is directed to the transmission in you TB, instead of the engine, as in the OEM TB. I had to make a trip to Pep Boy to buy a longer hose, and I am not satisfied with that.
2. No space to work. Be patience.

Any other way of doing it? Did I missed some parts?

Sorry to hear that you have problems installing the M7 throttle body. I wanted to upgrade my too but to think that it will be a big job for me to handle so I will just have to wait for Steve to have another Pulley party. You should call Peter or Randy at M7 I'm sure they are happen to help answer your question. Please let me know the result after you finish with your MINI and good luck.

I'm just a tiny bit confused...and maybe im mis-reading it...

How can the TB cause a change in vaccuum hose....dont they just bore out OEM TB's....i wouldnt think that it would change the orientation of anything Their TB IS an OEM TB just bored out. Maybe you have it installed slightly off?

The throttle body is a stock unit re bored . It is a direct replacment and just bolts on exactly as does the stock. As with any of our products you are free to call us for tech support.

Tb

Sorry, but I am sure that the vacuum fitting is directed south. It should be directed to the left side of the car. I tried to find an "L" to correct the problem, but ended with a 12" long hose to conect it.

That doesnt make any sense though....are you sure you have it installed correctly?

It's not like they sent you a new aftermarket TB... It's an OEM TB that has been bored out so the vacuum fitting should be pointed the exact same direction as any OEM TB because IT IS OEM....

You might want to run over your installation and make sure you have it installed correctly

Is your MINI a 05? The TB is mounted differently on the 05's.

I think it's only different on the Auto S 05's, i think the 6 speeds are all the same.

Good morning everyone

I have to do a guestimate what's going on....It is possible the customer got
a TB with the AGS vaccum elbow in place, the replacement unit is a CNC
machined aluminum piece compared to the brass OE part. This new part
would point in the opposite direction to allow the AGS filter to fit.

This is only a guess as I have not heard from the customer as of Monday morning.

Please call us for direction on how to take care of the problem..

Thank you Peter, this sounds like the problem. If you are correct, given his solution of a longer hose- could he just use it as is? Any problems? This way if he ever did upgrade to an M7 AGS he would have the correct TB for it.

minijob,
Please call M7 for assistance.

The longer hose "is" the solution, there's no problem going this route.
The bonus is, it's ready for the AGS....

minijob,
It appears you are fine with your install. Other vendors that sell larger throttlebodies also don't include instructions but we have the How to instructions via the internet to assist us.

Your throttlebody is a special case compared to all of the others. Which intake are you running? If you ever upgrade to the M7 AGS then you are ready. If you ever sell your throttlebody, it's the right one for the AGS. Keep any extra hose you may have removed.

You can re-use the stock hose clamps by using a screw driver to remove them and pliers to put them back. I like the OEM look and stealthy upgrade appearance. Others use standard hose clamps.

Rough install time is 30 minutes.

Thanks again to Peter at M7 for his support.

That is right M7. You wrote: the replacement unit is a CNC

This is the problem. The part was aluminum instead of brass, I am sending you the core tomorrow, so in a while you'll see.

My 04 MCS is working nice. Had to start it 8 times to erase the chk engine light, but runs greaaaat!!!!

Instead of sending it back, just rotate the elbow and your in business.
