the cars with it on aren't making enough HP to warrant retarding the timing

Whaaaat
First of, you advance the timing to get more hp. and saying that you will not
gain any hp or that it's not worth doing is ignorant.
As we worked on the Cosworth project, we found close to 10 hp by advancing the ignition, making this as important as fuel trim.

you don't quite understand my point,
cars are making over 200whp with stock ecu and timing
and the twincharge car has made 430whp on stock ecu and timing
yes you are right advancing timing will get more horsepower
we have found testing, that cars respond quite nice by adjusting the a/f without touching timing.
so according to your data on the cosworth project you found 10hp by advancing timing , which means the kit makes even less hp on stock software?
from what I understand your cosworth project has not made over 200whp yet, can you elaborate on this?
Quit tryin to act like you know it all when youve already looked stupid once
the dyno numbers seem to not support spending the extra money for timing

I have a great idea, and you can paypal donations to bobhope@hotmail.com once you embrace it fully and unquestioningly:
A personal attacks ONLY thread.
A lot like celebrity boxing, but with mini owners, and lots of starred out curse words. Retard this, your HPpee that, and your tube is shorter than my tube in general.
And I am sincerely sorry if someone has already thought of it. I would be willing to share some of the donations with you.

I have returned from the Dragon and have at least 6 hours of video to prove it:smile: From the first "fast" leg from Fontanage Village, I wizzed by at least a dozen Minis coming the other way while WOT and a few of them tracked me down to let know that the AGS screams
Ingesting Water
Am I to understand that the AGS will suck water into the intake system?
I live in the Seattle area and this would be a huge concern for me!
Is the original front-grille intake tube retained and directed at the filter with no way of eliminating the water that comes through that front grille?
This soulds like a good reason to not even consider this intake.
Is this truly a concern for those with this intake?
I don't care how it sounds. It won't sound good for long while water is being ingested by the intake system.

As posted earlier, people didn't have any problems with the HAI and the AGS shares the same filter mounting location. If you take a look through the grill, the intake duct is actually tucked up under the bonnet as apposed to being directly behind the open grill so water doesn't have a direct shot right into the filter. I'm not sure exactly how much water would get into the filter and throttle body but to hyrolock an engine, that amount would have to be very high. Remember, there are water injection systems to help reduce detonation in highly boosted engines so a little water is alright. I guess if you plan on driving through a monsoon and want a safety net, you could use the shield...or M7 could develop something like K&N's "dry charger" that drapes over the actual filter and acts as a large parcticle/water trap with minimal restriction.

I don't know how you'd think the AGS sucks water. If this is a concern, I'd stick with the stock intake system.

At this point, I think we've verified that it sounds cool & looks cool. I've also heard actual owner feedback that it provides improved throttle response. Those same owners claim to have experienced power gains.
This is all called anectdotal evidence. Some trust it, others don't. As for empirical evidence, we're still waiting. Some patiently, others not.

astra,
As much as I would like to see those numbers, being an AGS owner myself, why should he subject himself to the bashing that will accrue after the post.
Those most ardent numbers people will also be the first to point out the inaccuracy of the dyno numbers with some if not all of the following complaints:
Wrong dyno type
Wrong dyno operator
Wrong ambient air temp
Wrong humidity
Wrong instrumentation
Wrong phase of the moon
Wrong tension on the tie down straps
Wrong tire pressure
Wrong interval between runs
Wrong gas
Wrong charts(Photoshoped)
and on and on and on!!!
All to point out the invalidity of the numbers they were all clamoring for.
So whats the point.
Just my .02,
Bill

it is quite refreshing!
I will have results by the end of next month. They will include ambient air temps, humidity, inlet, intercooler and outlet temps. All done on a Dyno Dynamics AWD dyno.
Anything else I should include to avoid the horrible backlash that will occur?
