AGS reports

I have some interest in the AGS as a flow improvement, but info has dried up.
as I recall, several were on-route to the dragon, one or two to the dyno, and JCampos was serching for 200hp or was going to cry

what happened?

I think JCampos was talking about re-tuning so he must not have hit his number.

Thank you for checking in regarding the M7 AGS...

Because of the vitriolic nature of some poster here on NAM, we have taken the
carefull path of not posting any numbers that could be construed as made up
or other wise fiddled with in a non ethical way.

One of the early AGS customers, took upon himself to take the AGS to a very
high end engine builder to get flow numbers and......you will hear the rest of
the story in a day or so...Let's put it this way, it's wort waiting for

And as always feel free to call us for more info...

Peter,

Is the AGS heat shield available yet?

And if so, how does it change to sound of the AGS?

I just don't like the whine of the supercharger as much as most folks, I suppose, but I'm hoping the heat shield might quiet it even a little?

Thanks!

It will be available soon. I expect the heatshield to project the sound more forward and down, cutting the allready very low cabin noise down even further.

With that said Tom, Don't expect OE airbox noise levels, as the airflow is
incredibly higher then most other systems....

for those who want photos, let me know what angles and what exactly you want photos of. I can even take a photo of some of the stuff that came out of the car. Unfortunately i cannot offer photos during the installation, only post installation (as mine is already installed and sounds wonderful). thanks to Peter at M7 and Andrew at Eastside Mini for arranging the install!!!

sure thing give me about 24 hours because i am working on a 24 hour law school take home exam that i have to have in by tomorrow afternoon (or this afternoon depending on your time zone). After it is turned in I will photo anything anybody wants so put in your requests now (and hopefully I wont be so mentally drained that they come out blurry). My camera takes photos that are 6.3megapixels so they will be nice and big and detailed. For those interested be sure to be specific on the angle and subject of the shots. thanks.

The AGS is fairly difficult to photograph because of the rather tight fit but here are a photos I took of Randy’s MINI at the install party last weekend.

And here is a photo of a few of the uninstalled parts:

Ive been waiting for these damn guys to finish hookin up their dyno so I can get the unichip tuned. I didnt expect to get to 200whp with the AGS, I was talking about all of the mods I planned for that month put together. As is, I am close and the unichip tune will put me over the top of 200 whp.... no head, no cam, no p/p supercharger, no intake manifold, no injectors, no APEXI .

Just curious, but wouldn't an APEXi be useless if you have a properly tuned unichip? Surely there's nothing to gain by tweaking A/F ratios if they're normalized/tuned already? Any thoughts? Have a great day, everyone.

apexi is half the price of unichip and so far much easier to tune...

unichip is black box... you never know how to tune it...

apex-i... anyone can learn to tune it themselves...

hmmmmm

And for good reason. I believe it has shown on a dyno to get people about 10hp if tuned correctly. I saw Brians car gain 7hp in 15 minutes with it. (He also posted dyno sheets contrary to some others ) I am getting one and all I have is a 15%, JCW intake and Miltek exhaust and presently at 185whp and I am doing nothing else before the Apexi to see if it will help a mildly modded car gain the same amount. I will post the dyno sheets when I am done too.

remember that 7hp came AFTER I had already "butt dyno'd the tune" at Steve's.... So in effect it was already semi "tuned" before the final adjustments
