Since Randy (yes THE Randy) installed a Alta catch can several weeks ago, my '04 MCS reeks of gas, on both hot and cold starts - without exception. Vaccum leaks? But,the car runs great! Any ideas?

I had an Alta can well over a year ago and experienced crankcase fumes entering the cabin with the fresh air vent open. Also, the can only collected water, lots of water. Correctly installed and no discernable leaks. Randy and the Alta folks put their heads together and said that it wasn’t possible, but it was.

My suggestion is, if it doesn’t work to your satisfaction return it.

 

Also, shine a flashlight between the intercooler and the valve cover to check for fuel stains at the injectors. It just could be an unrelated fuel issue.

Yep about all I get is condensation.... lots of it.

I'll pull off the intercooler and check the fuel rail and injectors. I had Randy install the CC as an excuse to hang out a PP with the lads. I'm not convinced that there is much value added.
