Mobil 1 $$

My local Advance Auto Parts sells Redline and a host of other synthetics. I have always known how expensive it is, which is why I always had reservations as to buying it when I could get Mobil 1 for $2 cheaper. Well, I went in the other day to change my oil for the first time, and Mobil 1 is now more expensive than Redline or anything else out there. Does anyone know why?

My Costco stocks Mobil 1 for much cheaper than the auto stores. Have you looked at Costco or some other warehouse store?

No idea why Mobil 1 would cost more than Redline. If it were that way here, I'd be using Redline for sure.

Last time I did an oil change at home (about 6000 miles ago) my local WalMart had a 5-quart bottle of Mobil 1 full synthetic for $20 (maybe just under).
The change before that, I won 6 quarts of Amsoil, so only had to buy the filter.

Costco - $24 for a case of 6. That's has to be cheaper then redline or amsoil.

I'm going to check my local Target and see what they charge. Costco/Sam's Club is a great option. Thanks for the reminder. I found it very odd that it is that expensive.

The absolute cheapest Mobil 1 is at Pep Boys with the coupon in their calendar. The calendar cost a dollar (the buck goes to MADD) and the centerfold is a page of coupons.

The Mobil 1 is buy three get three free. That makes it less than 3 bucks a quart much cheaper than the $4.00 that Costco or WalMart charges by the quart or in the 5 quart container.

And there are also other coupons one of which is for a FREE Techron 12oz. Yesterday I bought 6 quarts of Mobil 1 only paying for three, and a free Techron that came with a $2.00 rebate was thrown in.

I call that a deal.

Rich

That's assuming you have a walmart nearby. Closest one to S.F is over 30 miles away so no way it's cheaper then Costco when you factor in gas and time. Plus, let's not forget Walmart's policies. They are a good reason not to shop there.

Target sales it by the quart, and it has always been less than $4/quart. Walmart for the 5 quart jug as previously posted.
