Drivetrain Official ALTA Q&A thread!
trackertracker: Do you have a link? Sorry for any issues or concerns. I am sure Jeff and I can get to the bottom of the problem ASAP!
Also, in any case of an issue or concern, PLEASE e-mail us or call us directly, for the fastest service. We try to stay on top of everything here, but in many cases we can't be in all places at the same time.
Sando4552: I am a bit lost as to what you need. The ALTA system includes a forward resonator and a rear muffler as part of the kit itself. What is the resonator that the dealer says is destroyed? Once we can determine what the part is, we can certainly come up with a less expensive option. Thanks again!
Thanks NAM!

Hi Mr Alta , a few others have now reported the same problem on the
thread link above. I haven't called or e-mailed you because I felt that it was a long story that was best reviewed by looking at all of the details in
the thread. Even if you haven't figured out any suggestions yet,it might be a good idea to let those people know that you have looked at that thread.
Thanks in advance.
( P.S.====You sell great stuff, including the PSRS

Thanks for showing interest in my topic. I have heard news a few weeks ago and wanted to see an update...
Alta- Just wanted to say thanks for the customer service I received lately. I had a powder coat issue with my light bar and you guys were amazing...It was all rusted and chipped from three months use and you guys held your own and replaced it for me. THANKS. This is why I do my business with you.

ChrisMCS04, I wrote Alta on August 7th and they said the new exhaust was ready for shipping. The tips are the same as on the R56 version and that they are stainless steel 304 and not chrome plated. They are double walled so they won't discolor.
They didn't give me a part number. I was interested in that because if I order from one of their vendors, I'd want to make sure I was ordering the new exhaust.

Thanks for your reply rwkeating. I am looking for the pics of the single tip option. I have seen others like B&B, but I wanted to see Alta's take on the single tip...do you have any pics of the tip?
SORRY GUYS FOR NOT POSTING SOONER! For some reason the notification doesn't come through consistantly! Our bad for not checking though!
ChrisMC04 /CactusFlier: Thanks for asking. The systems started shipping while the web master guru photo dude was in Colorado. Pics posted ASAP. But they look like our R56 tips just about 15% smaller to fit in the R53 opening. Pics comin I promise!
rwkeating: No change in PT#. Just supercedes. AMP-EXT-100
Chris MCS04: The oval tip will be coming in about 6-8 weeks. Photos coming soon.
trackertracker: Thank you!

I just had my MINI dealer install an Alta top mount intercooler version 2.0 on my '06 MCS. Will an Alta person and anyone else has had one installed take a look at the photos that I posted in my gallery? Here are my questions:
Is there a reason why they wouldn't have used all of the bubble trim that came with the intercooler?
Is that how they should have trimmed the hood scoop? By cutting a wedge in it?
Is it normal to have to disconnect that hose?
Why would I get a dimple on one side of the hood scoop and not the other? (I don't want any of them!)
If you see anything else that looks odd, please let me know.
Thanks!

comolago: I am SO SORRY that you had this experience. From those photos it clearly shows that the person doing the installation either didn't have the instructions or just chose not to read them. NONE of that is normal. However, the nice thing is, it is all fixable by the dealer. (Maybe other than the dent.) Have them do the job right, if not refund your money and have a competitent shop do the labor. Again, my apologies. Let me know if I can help further!

Thanks for asking. We are finishing the details right now on a new relationship with a leading spark plug mfr. Expect them to be on the website by the weekend. For the belt a NAPA 060539 is ideal. Hope that helps! Thanks again!
