If I am planning to get an aftermarket 15% pulley later on?
or is there something to the JCW intake that is worth to spend $400 now?

i dont think the jcw intake is worth 400. i doubt it does better than the alta or other aftermarket intakes that are cheaper.

No it doesn't make any more HP, they are all about the same. What it does do is give you a quiet ride under 4500k, and looks completely stock, unlike aftermarket solutions.

Anyone with just the JCW intake before other mods? What do/did you think?

I have had just the JCW intake for a week, have a pulley being installed next Wed. I noticed the revs from 4500-7000 were a bit quicker. Nothing night and day, but no intake is.

I view an intake as the first mod to any car. Anything else you do benefits from it. I have a open cone on my GTP, and I didn't want the constant sound of it on the MINI, so the JCW was perfect for me. Otherwise I would have gone with another like the Alta.
