Ignition Wire touching Intercooler back

I was wondering if it should be a concern...

my new livewire ignition wires have started to burn a very small hole.. the outer coating is a nylon coat... and it is burning into the inside when it touches the intercooler.. the GRS intercooler is alot bigger and its my main concern is that it will burn through whatever's inside..

any recommendations? the giant intercooler im not removing...

let me try and rephrase this...

the new GRS intercooler reaches behind slightly of the ignition wires... but since it's thicker... it also touches the nylon outer coat of my new livewire spark plug wires... after about a month, the intercooler's heat seems to have burnt into the inside of the spark plug wires... i cannot see any visible damage... but any damange is not good

i was thinking of spacing it... maybe put in a small silicone tube that will be placed on the wire so it will be properly spaced...

anyone have any suggestions?

I doubt the heat of the intercooler has damaged your wires (it doesn't get hot enough). More likely, the intercooler is rubbing against the wires and has worn through the covering. You may want to zip tie your wires away from the IC (or swap back to the stock wires).

If you look closely you may see that it's not a burn, but is oxidation from the wires rubbing on the aluminum IC.

I am guessing that the problem here is that you did not route your wires correctly through the top of the 'Beru' connectors. Are they just coming straight up out of the (spark plug) connector, or are they coming out at the 90 degree angle that they are supposed to be. That connector has a slit in the top with an exit hole to make that 90 degree exit.

PS, should have asked what wires you are using. Maybe the brand you have do not offer that 90 degree outlet. ?
